I thought it was pretty good..aside from some iffy stories like Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch doing the deed in the woods with Wolverine watching, and Hank Pym abusing his wife. Also, I should've put quotations in my previous comment since I was only quoting what @RaccoonRevolution was saying about the Ultimate universe being dumb.

He would have expected to be beat, or be shot, or some cliche super-hero shit talk... but not that. Only Spider-Man would do that

Stories like "Wake Up", "Underboss", "Out", "The Trial of the Century", "Hardcore", "The Murdock Papers" and "End of Days" are among my favorites in the character's history. But like I said, Zdarsky's entire run has been top-tier as well; I've just read Bendis's run more over the years due to Zdarsky's being current.

@@joshuanelson6795 so the reason I ask is Idk Daredevil S3 was good and while it did spiritually adapt Born Again I was disappointed that Daredevil didn’t suffer the same pressure and circumstances he did in the graphic novel (losing his apartment, reputation, job, and money all at once) or what he went through in Bendis’s run. S3 while he was on the edge, it wasn’t as brutal or anxiety provoking as the comics in that aspect. It felt like Bullseye personally suffered more by the end of it all. And from what I have heard Bendis DD seems like someone that always loses and Zdarsky DD (from him standing up to Ironman, to taking out US Agent) is someone that always wins.

Arrogance, kingpin wants to see his enemies broken. He's scary because he'll do more than kill you, he'll destroy everything you hold dear. In reality shitty writing and over reliance on cliches. The ultimate universe was very wild and inconsistent.

He underestimated peter. he saw he was a kid and decided he wouldn’t flaunt cruelty and give him a chance.

Because that henchmen actually tipped Peter about a gala Fisk was hosting which would be a great occasion to spy on him, hence why Kingpin murdered him. As for why he didnt kill Peter, my best guess is that he cared more about who might've sent him than Spidey himself since he had just crushed him with ease with Electro. To him, dissidence within his men or ingerence from a rival group was way more threatening that a masked buffoon so leaving him alive and humiliated was a more effective message than simply killing him. The point of that story is that kingpin sees himself as untouchable no matter what he does and I believe that was a great exemple of it.

Ultimate Spider-Man vol 1 - Ultimatum honestly has like 1 miss and its the 2 issues where spidey and wolverine does some freaky Friday type shiii. Ultimate Spider-Man vol 2 tho, it's pretty boring tbh up and till the death of Peter Parker

It was revealed that in the ultimate universe, Spider-Man's likeness was under public domain..... and kingpin happens to own a company that makes Spider-Man merch. So to kill spidey would be less profitable than to keep him alive. He knew that spider-man would fight crime again. He just wanted to prove a point. That Kingpin is a force to stay away from. Didn't work.

@@Shark97281 Well, kinda interesting theory. But you can make money from spider man without spider man staying alive. Hell, look at real life music icons and celebrities. Their merch sales are even better after their death. I can believe that Kingpin didn't know that kid will survive the fall. And he punished his goon just for a fatal mistake. This was relatively early in the Ultimate series, like one of the first arcs after the "Peter got bit" prologue arc. We can chalk it up to inexperience and Kingpin being weirdly sneaky.

That's kinda why they pushed Kingpin more into a Daredevil villain.

@@pikabk8829 Yes they did. As long as you understand that they are a bunch of racists and marxists(but I repeat myself) it's not even hard to see WHY they had to. Their motives are entirely racist. Their end goal is racist. Once you understand that at every level top to bottom Marvel is run by racists, then you quickly see why they had to kill Peter. Why they shat on Peter's character when they grudgingly brought him back in a last, desperate, failed attempt to save the Ultimate Universe(Which basically died when Ultimate Peter died)...and why they're doing it all over again in a slower way in the primary universe. The most pathetic part of it is that Miles actually is decent enough...not good enough, just decent enough...to stand on his own and MAYBE be a legitimately good character someday. If they gave him his own identity. But that doesn't serve the mission. Now you can all go back to pretending ya'll don't see it too. It's more comfortable that way, I get it.
