Worked like a charm and only took a few hundred rounds :). As an aside, there are 2 systems stacked on each other -- a pixel or two off and you're in Bessel! Confused me at first but figured it out.

Yeah, that's great. How does stealth work against people? Like in a building. I get spotted all the time and 2 levels of stealth doesn't seem to do much unless you have a sniper rifle and you are a VERY long way away. Try to sneak past a guard? Nope. Not a chance. Melee sneak atttack? Never.

Sounds like you're moving too fast. I got 2 levels in it and have no problems at all. Silenced pistol, silenced shotgun and a knife. All gotten me plenty of stealth kills at all kinds of ranges.

Also, if you remove your spacesuit or use a lighter one it helps a lot

@@twotailedKitty See above. No spacesuit when sneaking indoors. No companions. Sometimes it works as expected, and often it doesn't. The problem is that you can never tell when it will work and when it won't. The stealth meter is not that useful. It goes from white to red...BANG...instant detection by NPCs in another room, with no line of sight and 2 floors below me. WTF? These badguys, with an airtight helmet on their heads, can hear like a magical mutant guard dog. But like I said: sometimes it works like one would expect, and often it just does not, and there is no way tell which it will be ahead of time.

@@Zayphar yeah, fair. Let's hope they adjust it better in future patches. There are mods that change stealth AI a bit already, but that is not an option for everyone.

Stealth feels awful in starfield. Cone LoS means so little, sound detection just makes it tiresome AF.

Stealth was at least viable in some of their previous games, even if it wasn't amazing mechanically. At least Skyrim had nice stealth takedown animations.

@@dohnjoe9211 after spending more time in the game and testing stealth, it works just gotta dump a LOT of perk points into it and max it out. on top of that the chameleon perk for "no movement noise" is an absolute must to make a semi full stealth character playable. also building in the science tree for weapon mods is a must. I recommend the aa-99 for an early sniper stealth build

its one of those "hard work pays off" type builds bc I feel like leveling is a grind in itself. and the build I making is a little over kill for the gun - gun play. probably better off using the skill points elsewhere for better ships, ship combat, and overall player survivability

@@anthonylazzaro1092 I feel the stealth system just sucks. It was one of the first things I maxed out and it barely makes a diference in detection range. I never saw a game where you are always heard before you are spotted, making the whole LoS mechanic meaningless.

i used the weapon Orion, it fires twice at once so done it double as quick i done it under 5 mins hope that helps people more

I've found a faster way. Deactivate a turret, fire at with cutter, 40 sneak attacks in about a second. Mantis Lair is an option to take care of all three rank ups in one go if you've got the perk points saved, and boost pack range (or a willingness to make a mad dash to hit a button).

You can actually do this on the first planet in the game after the intro.. not with sky creatures, but with the first crawlys.. sleep in ship to refreesh

I was trying to level stealth in the intro right after waking up from the magic rock but for some reason it doesnt work even though it say sneak attack when i hit my coworkers

Won’t work with Allies. I was farming Crimson feet pirates and it was registering sneak attacks but the progress bar wasn’t going up. I realized early on I joined there faction so I tried to aggro them and get them into the combat state and then stay hidden again and it finally registered it. Don’t know if its a glitch or not

There is npc boxs under the map of some vendors " i seen some video of someone clipping through the ground at the coffy shop in atlantise " so try focuse on no clipping since we can then use that to find npc vendor boxs

This is not a stealth game, while you can at times be successful the enemy both sees and hears you from 500 miles away. Especially in factories and dark places where you cant even see the enemy, they have spotted you because you farted.

Shoot someone with an EM weapon to concuss them, then you’ll be able to hit them about 5 times before they stand back up :)
