@@rosep964 it cant be. very easy to explain. türkiye is on the crossroads of trade routes from spices up to silk. türkiye is the richest country in the world for self grown vegetables and natural herbs! for centuries, turkish cuisine was a unique melting pot of all the world's first-class goods and tastes, which meant it was able to develop freely and draw on goods that were unattainable for many peoples and cultures. that's why turkish cuisine is undisputedly number 1 in the world!

the meatballs you are used to are believed to be originated from sweden but swedish king had to take refuge in ottoman empire and during his time in palace he managed to snatch the recipe for "meatballs" directly from one of the chefs mouth and when he returned to his country he ordered his chefs to cook it all the time.

I get really angry that every tourist who comes to our country calls Turkish pide Turkish pizza. It's a wrong analogy, because the Italians used to serve us as embassies during the Ottoman period. There were many Italians in Istanbul at that time, the Genoese. They named the piden they learned from us, pizza in Italy. And they introduced it to the world as if it was their own food. The real name of the dish called pizza is pita.Just as the Greeks always steal Turkish food, the Italians stole our pidemi and made it their own.I wanted you to know all the facts, lovely couple.👈😊🤗

Brother the pizza you see around the world you see is an American curruption of the pizza. It should be called american pizza. The true pizza is called Neopolitan pizza , made with free san marzano tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil , mozerella cheeze and dough cooked in clay oven under 7 minutes and served hot. You guys may have invented the pizza but the Italians were smart enough to perfect it and market it around the world as their own.

One of my favorite restaurants was Sultanahmet Koftecisi right next to Sultanahmet Square by the tram stop. Simple delicious meat and pickles with rice or fries. Don't miss taking a cruise on the Bosphorus, they're cheap and very scenic. My wife and I took the boat to Arnavutkoy a little fishing village turned hip neighborhood, lots of little bars and restaurants to check out.

the original kebab doner i just meat and bread. Maybe some grilled onion, tomato and pepper on the side but just that. The other forms whith souces and other salads and other things are inventions which do not have the original flavour and taste of spicy minced meat and bread. shawarma is from arabic and the girl at tantun yiyelim restaurant, actually answered you about delicious in turkish. She said its "tatli" which literally means "sweet" but is also used to say very tasty. She also thought that you were trying to say to the guy the compliment of " very delicious", thats why he answered - thankyou and enjoy your meal

My dream is to visit Turkiye and see the home of the land of the great Ottoman Empire and the phenomenal architecture of Sinan. I was born in Jerusalem/Al Quds, where the walls and baths and Souqs are all Ottoman. My favourite meal is Shishbarak! and the first Donner kebab shop opened in Palestine in Nablus was Turkish. My grandfather was a translator in the army till 1917, when the Saudis stabbed you in the back! Thank you for ALL the help you have been providing to the Palestinians, and Syrians when all the Arabs abandoned us. God willing, the glory that was the Empire will come back. Happy to follow the infrastructural projects of Turkiye and spent countless hours watching Urtugrul! Laziz(a) is also delicious in Arabic. I understood Daqiqa and Tamam 😂

I should point out that you should taste our different flavors in different regions. There are 7 climatic regions in Turkey. Marmara starts at the European Side and continiues with some other cities on the Asian Side. The Aegean district has the Aegean sea coast. Izmir, Muğla, Aydın etc. Turkey's capital Ankara and many other cities are located in Central Anatolia. There are cities of Antalya, Mersin and Adana in the Mediterranean region. Eastern Anatolia Region is located in the most eastern part of Turkey and has cities of Kars, Ağrı, Van ets. There are well known gourmet cities in Southeast Anatolia. But each district has different cousins. For example if you like vegaterian cousins, Aegean cities are just for you. Food is made with olive oil. I think you need at least a month to taste the general flavors of Turkey. :) Istanbul is intertwined with meat and kebab culture. But Turkey also has good slopes.

I miss istanbul...was there for almost 2 months last jan to feb. I stayed in Balat...do come and visit the area. it has a rustic charm with colorful houses...And go to the wednesday market in Fatih known as Carsamba pazari..one of the longest market i've been to. The market is next to Fatih mosque. Although not as famous as the blue mosque or hagia sophia...fatih mosque is beautiful too...just hang out on the mosque ground eating kunefe. There is one famous and nyummy kunefe place just outside the mosque called peynirli kunefe. It is a syrian kunefe not turkish..just an idea...you can make comparison video between different kunefe in turkey. As for Kumpir..it looks beautiful but i prefer uk's jacket potato better...hehehe

oh we were considering stayjng at Balat. But thought it was too far from the center. So maybe we’ll stay there next time, or on the Asian side?
