It kinda represents their personalities Hajime is reliable but can be rude sometimes when he gets overwhelmed. He’s also fairly smart. Makoto is slightly less reliable, but he’s still fairly reliable, but he’s optimistic and happy as well. He’s stupid though. Shuichi is a lot less reliable and less confident but he’s very kind and intelligent.

I think Bryce Papenbrook definitely had to adjust Makoto's pitch because of Nagito, and maybe Nagito was even slightly lowered as well. Hajime still sounds like Johnny Yong Bosch, though its a little weird because it feels like they REALLY pitched Hajime up.
