Ultimate Tensegrity Table - with JOINERY - plans

I set out to design an elegant-looking tensegrity table (impossible table), using tapered sliding dovetails cut with hand tools. I used mahogany and African padauk for the structure and paracord for the cables. The splines are structural so the corners don't split.
I am very pleased with how it looks.

Thanks Morgan. I have been working hard on the sound effects. Many of the sounds that seem real are added in post-production, like the pencil strikes and the marking gauge.

@@BobsWoodStuff They're really fun and effective. I loved putting the dowel in the drill to round over the edges. I just made about 20 dowels by hand, each needing to be tapered for draw-boring the garden bench. I wish I'd seen your video a week ago. I used my sanding block upside down in my vise and did them by hand. You way is much more efficient.

I really wish I could be impressed by this, but it feels like another ‘me too’ project, like the infamous, soon to be full of cracks, ‘River tables’. Do like the colors and the shapes though.

I totally get it, and I admittedly built this because the trend was getting people a lot of views. Although I think I missed the tensegrity trend by a couple months. That aside, I did incorporate a lot of craftsmanship and joinery that seems absent on many of the tensegrity tables.
