Every shooters dream. Private range on the side of a mountain, little reloading cabin in the background, and beautiful scenery. What more can an ammosexual ask for? I do get some sick groups at 50 yards with my Ruger RPR 22lr when the bore is cold. Thank you for another great review.

It would be interesting to do a follow up with groups at 100y and 150y - 200y or more. This ammo goes subsonic around 100y, it would be interesting to see how the transonic transition effects groups which is the main reason match ammo is subsonic to begin with. It’s entirely possible this ammo is fantastic at 100y and in but terrible beyond that. Would be good information to know.

Well no shit. This guy seems to be clueless :/ What’s the point of testing 1200fps+ ammo only to 100 yards ... Well on the other hand it has a point since we all know ammo will probably perform bad after transitioning to subsonic :/ .... or not .... idk... Review should tell us that

There's a video of a guy testing it at a 50 yards then at 150 yards just search subsonic vs supersonic, the groups didn't open up at it actually shot at 150yd as good as 50yd

@@sasoudovic6247 to be honest the whole "transitioning to subsonic hurts accuracy" thing is a bit exaggerated...i also used to believe that subsonic ammo is beeter because it doenst have to go trough transonic zone... but this transonic zone does NOT have that big of an affect on good 40gr bullets in 22lr...its usually te lighter loads like 32gr bullets that have stability problems... there is actually a video of a guy testing subsonic and supersonic ammo at 300yds and the supersonic was shooting better groups. Thank you for all of your hard work mate. Between you and Pete from ImpactShooting I have gained what seems like a life time worth of information. I am running cz457 in MDT lss Rf. The best groups I have with this gun is with Norma match ammo. 1.9inch 5 shot group at 200m.

Makes me appreciate my Cooper 22LR I got a couple of decades ago all that much more because capable of one hole groups at 50 yards with federal ammo all day long.

The only problem with people figuring out that SK ammo is almost as good as ELEY ammo....is prices will go up and it will become EVEN MORE difficult to find :)

Nice shooting. SK ammo is not available here in Brazil. The only match ammo we can get is Eley or Fiocchi F300. I would love to try this one. I’m Shooting an Anschutz Thumbhole 1416 20” bull barrel, with a 5-30x56 Vector Optics Atlas scope. This gear is capable of 5 shot Groupon the size of a dime at 65 yards. Please keep posting 22LR content.

Shoot this in long range rimfire match out to 400m. Did very well and allowed for use of a 20 moa base instead of a 30 that would normally be required to get to that distance with subsonic ammo. Groups very nicely for me.

A year ago I had never heard of SK. But I picked up some of their standard plus. It was the most accurate and consistent ammunition for 22 I’ve used. I can’t recommend them enough.

SK is same as Lapua, made in same fabric by same company (owned by Nordic Group), just on older machines. Actually there is no difference between SK Rifle, SK Standard and SK magazine (sold in bulk in can). It’s same ammo, sorted by the accuracy tolerances. If a given batch of SK Rifle doesn’t go according to precision demands, it’s sold as SK Standard, if it’s lower, than as SK magazine. Sometimes when there is too much ammo they can’t sell quickly enough it’s simply sold as SK Standard. But I don’t thing it’s an issue right now :)

@@ZhuJo99 If its more up to spec then its not really same ammo. Not for someone who is shooting competition, its just same for average plinkster. SK rifle match is actually really close to Lapua CenterX/RWS rifle match/Eley TEAM, but not standar plus. Its sadly is not even comparable to any Lapua if you shoot competitions on electronic targets. And it also falls off on a paper targets on longer ranges too, depending on your barrel.

@@ZhuJo99 First, you dont know that. No offence but you are just misleading people. Its not really "same technology" if you use different technology for a quality control. Thats like main thing that makes rimfire ammunition quality, not just materials. If you take SK, RWS, and Lapua standard and premium versions (not talking about completely different type like flatnose for example) then compare it hand to hand you wont find any difference. Only Eley makes their ammo grades with different spec.

@@Alen725 manufacturing is same. What I mean is this is (SK Rifle, standard and match) is the same ammo, just from different batches and if such batch doesn’t meet demands for Rifle than it’s packed as Standard. It’s not that it is intentionally made worse as Standard or Magazine, it because a batch produced at a given time won’t meet the demands required to be marked as Rifle. They are not using different technology for quality control, they are using same technology to measure the accuracy and again, if it doesn’t meet demand, it’s marked as standard and sold like that. Now if you want to measure a dicks than go elsewhere, I have no time for such discussion.

Eley has given me the best results, I’m running a 10/22 with 90% Kidd parts and Victor Company stock. 18” Kidd Barrel, Kidd Trigger, Vortex Viper scope. Over kill for a 22, only parts left on it from Ruger is the receiver and bolt.

Good content. Appreciate your efforts. I recently picked up a CZ 457 Varmint (.22LR) and have been testing ammo's. Started with 16 different. I'm limited to a local indoor range, right now, at 25 yards. Shooting with front rest only. For hunting, a tie between Federal Game Shok and CCI Mini-Mag( avg. groups 0.52). Target was real close with SK in first three places. SK Rifle Match(0.35), SK HV Match(.38) & SK Standard Plus(.44). I'm pretty happy, so far. It's a new rifle and believe I can do better.

Interesting to see how it goes at 200 and 300y, currently using SK long range match in my cz455 mdt custom with pretty good results, my club runs a comp for 22 shooting 1/5 NRL 22 silhouettes at 100, 200 and 300 yards, great fun and can be trying in windy conditions

I have the B14R steel barrel all stock and I shoot mostly Geco Match which at one time was .05 per round (not anymore) and it shoots well in my rifle. I’m always experimenting with different ammo, not the $20 per ammo since I don’t shoot competition and the Geco will clear a KYL target on most days. It does pretty well on Federal Automatch but hates CCI SV. Good video Gavin

SK high velocity hollow point is the best 22lr i have ever shoot. Back in the days there was an Eley scorpion that also was very good.

I'd like see groups on this ammo from 200-400y from you. Also running a bergara, top notch rifle. With the lengths people are reaching with .22 1000 yards and ELR rimfire taking off isn't out of the question anyone. 100 yards is becoming a chip shot.

I'd expect those groups with the high velocity match would start to open up once you start shooting past 100-150m, since that should be about where it hits its trans-sonic range, that's why most match ammo is standard velocity to begin with, it's comfortably subsonic, so it never goes through transitional turbulence, giving a more consistent flight out to 2-300m

Im shooting a 97 year old Model 52 with 1956 12x Litschert Targeteer scope. There are lots of .22 ammo choices around, but not a lot of match target ammo. Ive had good results with Eley in the Black box and SK Match. Ive shot my best groups with CCI Green Tag, but its inconsistent. The best fun for the money in my old rifle is Federal Auto Match. Other than the occasional flyer, it shoots just under inch groups at 100 yards and wears out spinner targets at that range. Of course its a 4 position rifle, not a bench rifle, so never going to win any bench shoots, these days, but it smokes prairie dogs at 150 yards, over and over. Im going to order a small batch of this ammo to try.

based on your vid you were also shooting through the chrono at an angel. The bullet needs to pass over the sensors at an even height. If not it will travel a farther distance and read a lower/incorrect velocity.

I shoot at 100m so I don't know the accuracy at 50m, but my T-Bolt 22lr likes Federal Champion value packs and groups a little over 1" at 100m. Very satisfied with it even though it has a very heavy trigger.

I have a Bergara and an Anshutz 1416 thumb hole both shoot exceptional however I shoot at targets a lot further than 200 yards sometimes. I would love to get my hands on some of that SK Long Range match ammo.

Well, I have heard a lot about SK .22lr ammunition over the last year but I have yet to actually see any of this stuff anywhere. I would like to try it out to see how my rifle likes it. Right now the best ammo I have found is BBM 40 grain high velocity lead round nose ammo made in Germany by RUAG Ammotec. My custom Ruger SR-22 (the Ruger 10/22 receiver and bolt are the only Ruger made parts) loves the stuff and I am able to get it down to .389" 5 shot groups or better (when the bane of every target shooter, the hated "flyer", doesn't show up). Its certainly more accurate than I am.

HVmatch is the best and most consistent ammo out of my 20” Kidd bull barrel ( 10/22) . Several times I’ve managed 50yd groups in the .016 , out of probably 300 groups. I keep testing ammo but can’t find anything that shoots better. Haven’t chronographed yet, but will soon and get back to you

With that type of velocity and precision, this ammo appears to be a unicorn that can potentially fill both a competitive and hunting role very well. It would be nice if they could offer it with either a flat-nose or hollow point without affecting the precision.

I shoot 303 Brit, 308 Win, and lately 22 LR, all long range. 22 is a CZ 455 Supermatch, fitted to a Gun Warrior Gen 6 chassis, Vortex Viper PST scope. After many tests with different makes of ammo my goto choice is the red and black box SK up to 200m, and after that, I use Remmington Thunderbolts. Do not laugh, that is what works in my rifle :-) 22 rifles are like women, what works for one, does not work for the other, you learn that as you get older :-(

In my Keystone 722 Varmint with Center x ammo which is the best in my gun I can get an average of about .4 inch @50 yards with SK Rifle match it does almost as good but once in a while throws a flyer opening group up over .6 . Once ammo becomes more available I will have to try this SK High velocity match stuff. I would have liked to see an average group size with the Center X ammo not just one group unless that was an average of three groups? COLD barrel always does best in my gun too.

.22LR usually slows down in longer barrels. It doesn't take long before the pinch of powder is fully burned, and then friction takes over.

Vudo spent a lot of time researching length of barrel length. 18-20 was best velocity. Anything more resulted in lower numbers.

I would be afraid to ask what that whole shooting rig retails for... 0_o I'll stick with my CZ-452 American I bought from Weatherby Inc. (it was one of two preproduction proto-type rifles). With an Original Colorado built Redfield 2-7X scope with CP recital it turns in sub 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards all day using Winchester Power-Point (X22LRPP) 40-grain truncated hollow-points. The rifle/scope combination is light and handy and easily takes ground squirrels too and beyond 100-yards regularly with it. ^~^

It's a wonderful little rifle with the trigger adjusted. Wolf Match Extra and Match Target do very well for me. Standard SK match (red and black) box is very good through it too. Doesn't seem too picky with quality subsonics.

Your probably not going to get their FPS specs that they list because they use a 27” barrel to achieve that. I really wish manufacturers would all agree to a standard 16” barrel length so that you could compare 🍏 to 🍎.

Did you season your bore with 50 rounds each ammo before shooting those groups. Because if not the testing is completely meaningless. i have found that groups sizes with be cut in half after seasoning with 40-50 rounds. Good vid though I just want to help educate people and help them get the smallest groups possible.

@@fenomeno71 some of the seasoning will stay but the accuracy will pick up after 25-35 shots. At least that is what I have found from my shooting.

You seem fairly intelligent and you should know that the powder is burnt on a .22 at roughly 14in so a barrel any longer than that is slowing the round down. A longer barrel would yield you SLOWER rounds.

Not to many people would accept you only need a 14" barrel for max velocity. The powder may well have fully burnt, but the pressure in the barrel is still there.

@@gavinwilln7571 it is but the further that tiny little bullet has to travel the slower its coming out. I've pretty much proved this with my chrono. And why most "target " barrels aren't longer than 18in. And if you're shooting a semi auto platform your robbing about half of that gas to run the bolt which also takes away. Ive talked to MANY good shooters and its a general consensus that on a .22 anything longer than 18" is a waste of steel. Amd I didn't say that you only need a 14" barrel I said that the powder is burnt at roughly 14" inches for a standard .22lr round. Don't put words in my mouth.

@@gavinwilln7571 the ruger charger for example also proves it..you're getting the velocities out of these rounds that the manufacturers are claiming and that's with a 10" barrel!

@@ngirardo86 A barrel length of 18.5" is generally accepted as the best length for velocity when using a general spread of 22LR ammunition, The 16.5 figure you state is interesting as it is the ideal twist rate for 22LR barrels. Most powder producers claim that the powder is burnt by the time the bullet has moved 1 to 11/2 inches.
