Ultra Light Fishing URBN Style!

Well in this video I hit the urban banks with my new ultra light setup. We started off in the town catching plenty of fish on the UL URBN rod then moved on to the river to target some bigger fish! Using 5 - 8cm jigs to great affect big perch were on the cards. Finding those slacks in the weirs are the key.

Absolutely brilliant vid Chris.☺ Nice to see you catching and enjoying catching small perch on the micro jig gear. They remind me of the ones I used to catch on the rivers and canals round here when I was a kid. Really minted fish. The bigger ones on the river were just as nice and you deserved that two pounder at the end. Well done.👍 That Berkley rod looks a lot of fun to use, but what breaking strain line do you use with it? It would be fun seeing you use that rod whilst chasing a few jack pike. See how it performs. Keep up the great vids.☺

...Looks like great fun. Do you ever eat any of the perch you catch?...Here in the U.S. they are a real delicacy...I've caught many when I owned a house on a lake and the perch fish fries were just delicious...

Nice video. IMO Berkley rods are one of the best on the market. I have a 1-5grm u/l and it is a fantastic rod. Even the small fish feel like a specimen (it handles larger fish too). Keep the videos coming. It gives us fishermen a bit of light in these dark times.

there are actually a few lakes over here in england that have some nice cats in them. not sure if youre allowed to use lures to fish them but i know you can get fish of up to 80lbs or so in there. i've also heard the odd rumour of cats that have escaped into the main rivers but, if they have, theyre few and far between. one of my mates was deadbaiting for pike a couple of winters ago and hooked something that just ran until his spool was completely empty and then broke him off. we think that was a cat but fishing in main rivers is unreliable.

Great Video! One lil tipp: Wet your hands before touching a fish. With dry hands u harm the slime protection and this can cause infections. When u can´t reach the water, take a sponge with you on a line so u can reach he water and easy can make the hand wet. Greetings! :) Petri Heil!

Maybe try the split shot rig, perch love it. Berkley Gulp Alive Minnows are great lure, i use in 2cm. The Berkley Nymphs are great too.

Do you use a wire trace? I got some soft lures but have a trace in case of pike bites. Not had much luck though so wonder if the trace is causing a problem?
