I think the one thing I struggle with is how much I like the wallpaper I set up to scroll through pictures of my family, so getting rid of that is tough for me, but I might set up a specific focus mode and screens to try this out for a little bit because I definitely spend way too much time on my phone. I love that you mentioned the grayscale shortcut, because I've been using that for a long long time! I still have an apple watch series 4 laying around somewhere when I ditched it before 2020, but I have a Garmin watch that just does texts and alerts me to calls so I might try setting that up better like you were saying!

For sure. I know my wife loves her backgrounds with the kiddos. I'm pretty sure these widgets still work with any background, you would just be able to see the dock at the bottom of the home screen which isn't that big of a deal, honestly. Thanks, Ben!

This setup is as close as you're gonna get to the layout of the Lightphone. Only difference is that those phones have an e-ink display, which I think would be cool to see Apple roll out as a product to the tech adverse, but I doubt that will happen as they are in the business of making you WANT to use their devices as much as possible. Another great alternative to the Apple Watch are Casio's! Has the date, time, and alarm, everything you could really need. Thanks for the video.

I've got two Casios recently! haha I do think a dumb phone from apple would be amazing. But you're right... they are in the space of people actually using their devices so they can make more and more money!

haha it's a trick with the wallpaper. it matches the dock color exactly. I also keep my phone in dark mode in order for it to work properly. Good luck!
