Been waiting for this preview for a while now! Looks good, for sure works well for biking since it's super light and hasn't got a big, bulky hip belt to reduce your movement. Looking forward to the next adventure! Thanks Luke!

this pack did catch my eye a while ago. Since you think its marketed as a climbing back, where are the eyelets to store my ice axes or trekking poles? Also the way the top closes/covers up seems like its prone for snow/water buildup and potential leakage into the main compartment after prolonged exposure + melting of the snow.

Just started to use mine and love it. Especially here for overnight glacier. I was able to bring everything to sleep and hike.The only issue I had was the belt rub a lot on my back. I put some side bungee and added some nice support for snowshoes and with no extra weight.

TheMountainRN That sounds great brother. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the pack so far. I just got back from an overnight trip and with a 20lbs loadout this pack performed very well. How do you carry your water supply? I've have the loadout video up tomorrow and you can see how I carried mine. It worked well. Cheers. - Luke
@TheMountainRN9 жыл бұрын
Still working on that mine. In the past I always carry my water in water bladder in summer and nalgene in winter. But now I am in milder Climate and I see some people carry water bladder 4 seasons. The issue with the bladder is to have water in a dry bag seem counter intuitive 8). So far I tried to ways. Water in nalgene on top of the dry bag roll and water bladder in the bungee in the back

Hey, I am going on a trip next week and really want to buy this rucksack, but is it also good to use in warm weather? Do you sweat a lot because it doesn't have these clima cool things on the back ?

My issue with this pack is the lack of back ventilation. I feel like I could put my gear in a dry sack and put that inside my osprey stratos 36 or 38 when water damage is a concern. Thanks btw for the osprey stratos pack review, bought one as per your review and am in love with it. IMO osprey and eberlestock are the best companies for packs. Keep up the vids, their great.

christian seely I'm glad that you're enjoying the Stratos pack! Have you seen the new Anti-Gravity packs from Osprey? They look incredibly awesome! I should be getting one in shortly. - Luke

Looks good but with a corded closure how does that handle heavy rain? Does the pack fill up with water or can it seep out since the center bag is rolled down and protected from direct water intrusion?
@TheOutdoorGearReview9 жыл бұрын
mercury68able It will be interesting to see just how well it performs with rain. I have read that it does very well even in a heavy down pour. S&H - Luke

Very cool. I got the same bag in black last week. I wanted something to replace my TNF duffel for traveling that was simple, clean and light weight. My thoughts is to use eagle creek "pack it" system inside.
@TheOutdoorGearReview9 жыл бұрын
Timothy Roy I will have to look up the 'Pack It' that you mentioned. Have you been enjoying the pack? S&H - Luke
@TRwalks9 жыл бұрын
"Pack it" is an organizing system made by eagle creek. I haven't got any of them yet. However, I'm using regular plastic bags for an extra pair of shoes, pants/shorts, shirts, socks/underwear. I also use the Black Diamond bbee11 to hold my toiletries inside the Alpha FL. When I get to the hotel, I take out the toiletries and boom, I have a day pack to use too explore the city/town. So far I love the pack and how light and waterproof it is. It has only seen three cities in Ontario Canada so far. But, I will be taking it with me to the east coast (Newfoundland) this September. Also, if I can swing it. On a trip to Calgary or the USA.

2:03 - is there really no lid to cover the top? It doesn't seem to fit right in the style of all waterproofing they did to the backpack overall. In the same style that inner sleeve looks more build for waterproofing than to expand the volume. I don't like the pack and it seems too pricy, but it is just me.Thank you for the preview!
@MARLEYFANcbr9 жыл бұрын
ivanatora I was a bit confused too. With all the highly water resistant features it had, it looked like some water would get in between the two top closures and pool up.
@TheOutdoorGearReview9 жыл бұрын
ivanatora You saw correctly folks, there is no lid for this pack and I questioned that as well. The dry bag on the inside should provide full water protection (we shall see of course with more testing) though. I just got back from an overnight trip and with a 20lbs loadout, this pack performed very well. At this stage in my testing, I like it. Cheers. - Luke

I don't get it just use a dry bag inside of a real ruck. Looks too easy to puncture. Your presentation is always professional and spot on. Pack just seems useless.

0WickedSensation0 I can see your point of view brother. I just got back from an overnight trip and with a 20lbs loadout, this pack performed very well. With that limited amount of testing at the moment I really like it. The outer material is pretty darn solid. Cheers. - Luke

Nice pack but I don't agree about the color. In the outdoors I prefer natural tones except during hunting season outside of posted areas.

GIMME a BREAK!!!...This is nothing more than a waaaayyyy overpriced dri-bag with straps sewn onto it and a webbed strap for a hipbelt...haha. And coming from this manufacturer probably an insane price for what it really is. Im guessing that it will carry alright as long as you dont want to tote around more than a few pounds.
