I was drinking the same beer a couple weeks ago! Love that NA stuff…doesn’t make me feel drowsy. Sounds like a god training race (running uphill/slower down). Should help with Silver Rush and Leadville 100!!!

Look at you living the "Van Life". Glad the weather cleared up for the start, but it's crazy how fast it changed as you went. Yikes, it got pretty tight at the top with traffic coming both ways at the top. Congrats on the finish Steven!!!! Thank you for taking us along for this experience.

I get jealous of guys like you. If I had discovered stuff like this when I was younger I know I would have gotten into it. I'm 60 this year and stay active but that's beyond my capabilities. I do obstacle races for fun and mnt bike.

I ran this!!! 12 hours before the race I got a kidney stone and ended up in the Leadville ER. I was on the floor of that gym in agony! But I toed the line.

@@UltraTrailSteven I live in Michigan and trained for 5 months. I was absolutely not going to sit it out. My first word for the Dr was don’t think about admitting me cause I’m running. I also figured it was going to be warm and only brought shorts and tshirts. Good thing my buddy lives in Colorado.

Awesome Job Big Steve. I ran a 50K beginning of June that had a 3 mile section of shin deep brackish water then 6 inch deep mud that smelt like something died. I felt your pain with that mud. Not easy when you're running down a mountain. Keep Pushing The Run 🏃♂️

Several Santa Fe runners did this one back when it was the Mosquito Pass Marathon. Always cold at 13 K feet. You seemed to have paced yourself very well What do you think? Should you have pushed harder earlier? No matter how well or poorly I did in such events, I would look back thinking I should/could have none better

I am incredibly happy with my pacing and how I did. This was the first of 3 summer races in Leadville for me, with the 100 miler being the pinnacle. So I went into the marathon with the goal of doing the uphills strong, and taking it very easy and cautious on the downhills so I wouldn't roll an ankle or get injured and ruin my season.

I didn't get one of the camp entry spots (because of a meeting in the Pentagon of all places) and signed up for a charity entry - and just wanted to see if I should head from Honolulu to run the marathon. I would say about 2 miles of pavement in total, the rest is dirt/rock doubletrack/service road.

What are you running from? Always try running off the roads where motor vehicles and cyclists travel. Runners & walkers please be as courteous and considerate as possible and move as far as possible to the side to avoid accidents with oncoming cyclists. Especially important on roads with motor vehicles.
