When you cup a mic, you change the response pattern of the mic from cardoid (only from the front) to Omni-directional. That means the mic picks up sound relatively equally from all directions, not just where you point it. The immediate thing you will notice is that a cupped mic feeds back much more easily than an open mic.

shiwani Swamy it’s about an abusive relationship but she loves him so much that she doesn’t care if he hits her It’s also inspired by Jim Morison (hence the “Jim told me that”) And his relationship with his wife

the lyric are in fact disturbing. in this song, lana is singing from the perspective of the victim in a toxic relationship. in many toxic relationships, the person that is being hurt (in most cases that's a woman) feels like it doesn't matter if her partner hurts her because she is blinded by love. it's the terrible reality of many women and it's heartbreaking. in this song, lana is singing about how it feels like to be in a toxic relationship (i want to make clear that she's not romanticising it, she's talking from the perspective of the victim).

@@ak.33212 no I mean like bdsm related I didn't know how to word it respectfully cuz I don't wanna come down on anyone for consensual sexual preferences cuz I know it's people's personal choice and at the same time a market for does exist, I just was trying overly hard to tip toe around saying it, worried someone will say " gross that never would be in a song" leading to a whole nother message back and forth informing someone of stuff I don't want to and don't know about in any bigger way, thus tripping on my own feet , falling face first into words l weird wording.
