For almost twenty years I've had this concert on a VHS tape that was multiple generations away from a poor PAL to NTSC conversion. It was amazing to finally see it on KZfaq and see that Billy Currie was indeed on the stage somewhere.

Not in a million years. Foxx and the other three have never reconciled the mutual oppositions that emerged around 1979. It was a surprise ten years ago to see Midge Ure and Billy Currie sharing a stage, given the financial conflicts of the preceding decade.

Brilliant love the Speed/Tempo the Drumming from Warren Billy"s Synth.Sound all over & Im an Midge ure Fan...???? This song is kicking full of Energy no wonder its only an 2.30min track...??? No Time to gasp for some air.....? 1977 a proper Band/Sound with Keyboard/Synth.noises everywhere...??? Good Stuff from John....? Incl. Chris Cross Bass/Guitarre

I don't know why they've added that snappy reverb to the tracks. Unnecessary. The mix of Modern Love and Slip Away on the singles sound better.

Compared to the material the band recorded on the two albums released in 1977, this is mediocre. The lyrics are simplistic, without the bizarre and often mysterious imagery Foxx creates. Musically it goes nowhere interesting, perhaps being similar to The Jam's first album or Eddie and the Hot Rods. Who'd have guessed, based on the live tracks being released now, where they'd go?

I feel similarly about "Dangerous Rhythm" which was so underwhelming when I finally heard it on Three into One (oo'er missus). "My Sex" shouldve been the single (also, oo'er missus)

Agreed they had a lot of throwaway early songs that wisely they didn't record, so the album tracks are strong
