It is a question I have been asked a lot, which is better? Ultrawide or dual monitors and it's a complicated answer as mostly it depends on what your use case is but in this video we will be going through some of the pros and cons of both ultrawide and dual monitors. I bought a 34 inch ultra wide monitor, and it’s perfect for me! When k need to work on a project, I can have my research, comms, code etc open. Sure I could just two monitors for that, but the immersive experience it provides for gaming is great.

i have been on an 49" ultrawide - i am on linux and use a customized twm so arrangment etc is no problem for me... i was quite happy but the more i progress in my craft the more i wish for vertical space... atm i am considering going 32" 4k with a side monitor on either side in portrait... if only the 5k2k uw would have more than 60hz...

I recently went from a triple monitor setup, one 1440 27 inch, and two 24 inch 1080's, to a single 34 inch ultrawide. I ended up putting my 27 inch 1400 monitor back in the mix, and now run with the 34 inch ultra wide and the 27 inch both at 1400. My Adobe apps, Premier, Lightroom , Photoshop, my games, and movies, all look and feel and even seem to function better running full screen on the ultrawide, but its just too useful to have a second monitor to run your side apps on.

Great video. I only use my monitor for work. The key function I need is having 2 - 3 excel workbooks open side by side to use at the same time. Do you thing a 49 inch ultrawide would be best for this as based on your video above I am seriously thinking about buying one. I have a huge home office L Shaped Desk that is 2meters * 1.6meters also so would fit nicely.

Hey man, got a question for you regarding monitor arms. Do you find having 1 dual or 2 singles are better. Looking at the ergotron LX series in matte black and currently have a monitor for my gaming PC and a laptop (macbook pro) which I was gonna use as secondary screen and get a vesa converter. Not sure which would suit me better and returns are hard to do where I am unless amazon is more forigiving.

One other con to dual monitors is that together they consume more energy than one single ultrawide. Mostly because power supplies are not 100% efficient, so two identical power supplies of the same power rating end up wasting more energy than one higher rated power supply of equal or higher efficiency.

Isn’t the only negative really the price? If a game doesn’t support ultrawide, I can just play it in a supported aspect ratio in the middle and use the side(s) for discord or other programs right? So unless I want to have a vertical screen, I can use an ultrawide the exact same way I’d use a dual screen setup just without the border in the middle and the added benefit to position my main window in the middle

Great video. I wanted to ask about which ultra wide I can get. My laptop only supports 4K and 60Hz but I plan to also connnect my series x to it. Will my laptop still work properly if I buy a ultra wide which has a refresh rate of 100-120 hz? Does it downscale? Or should I buy one with the same

I am shocked thta you dont have 4K monitor. For me its #1 reason why I prefer dual monitors, not ultrawide

I would like a 32in, standard 16:9, 3840x2160 . I use a 4k 28in . I have seen an ultrawide in real life, my cousin has a curved one, but I do not like it

The uni fans come with a hub when you buy a 3 pack and they all clip together and go to the hub , its pretty cool. Then the hub just gets plugged into the motherboard. I do have an older video on my channel kind of showing it off

Useless, the review is based from the single perspective of the young guy who has a desktop PC. The review should be done from the position of a person who has in addition to a destop PC the 2 laptops with USB type C connectors(work laptop and personal one) and want to efficiently switch beetween the 3 computers and do not have a clatter of the desk. The price of the ultrawide is high but if you add to the price of 2 or 3 monitors the price of USB C or thunderbolt 4 docking station 500-700 USD then it approx the same. But I still like the ability to play with monitors using monitor arms. I'm afraid with a single ultrawide monitor this is quite difficult to control. I also like the ability to portrait it. I rememebr the times when I was doing front end work it was helpful.
