For years the Legends series by Umarex has brought historic firearms to life as airgun replicas for shooting enthusiasts.
Now Umarex has created their very own German MP40 submachine gun replica. This .177 caliber BB rifle promises hours of fun with a 60 round magazine and full auto capability! Powered by two 12 gram CO2 cartridges, simply select full or semi-automatic firing, and mow down tin cans like never before.
The "real steel" MP40 was first developed in 1940 for German paratroopers and later became the standard submachine gun for the Wehrmacht infantry. The Legends MP40 is a faithful replica that will transport you back in time the minute you pick it up. The realism is highlighted by the full metal body and folding shoulder stock. The hooded front sight and adjustable rear sight stay true to the original design and keep your eyes on the prize.
For fans of WWII military arms, this legendary gun can finally be yours!

Just got mine a couple days ago and man-o-man is it FUN! I moved the sling to the right side by following instructions in another video but that was the only modification it needed. Very accurate and tears apart cans at 30 yards. I'll be ordering their Thompson .45 "Typewriter" next!

First developed in the early '30s, not 1940. The original in service was known as the MP38 and, although nicknamed the Schiemeser, Hugo Schiemeser had nothing to do with it. The MP 40 is a MP 38 simplified for mass production.

I bought mine from Amazon on a Friday with free shipping and it came on Saturday !! How cool is that? Can't wait to try mine out with my Army veteran buddy. I did notice there may be a defect with the seal gasket on the magazine, ill call their customer support on this possible problem. So far I'm very pleased with this purchase.

How much CO2 does it use? I have never shot any gas powered gun before and I'm really interested in this one, but I would love to know about CO2 usage by this.

I just ordered one. I have watched several reviews by different people and they all seem to agree that you get about 3 magazines from the 2 co2 cartridges you load. That's approximately 145 -150 rounds or so, which is considered very good for this type of BB gun. I also saw that it averages around 195 BB's if you use it on semi-auto only. That's no fun, lol. Hope that's helpful.

I read a lot of people crying about the gun sucking, no idea why, maybe just plan old "user error". I own one and love it. The only problems I have with it is the magazine. Pain in the ass to load and NO it does not hold and operate properly with all 60 rounds loaded. I recommend loading no more then 50. If you go to their web site they even say now it holds 52 rounds and for best performance only load 40 to 45. Also, the speed loader that Umarex makes sucks and screws up if you use the recommended steel BBs. I came up with my own loader using a straw and tape. Once I made my own loader and stopped putting more then 50 BBs in it I no longer had any issues. I found mine on sale when they first came out for $180 with free shipping. Later I was able to get extra magazines for it also on sale. I feel it was well worth it. Just a fun gun I can shoot in my own yard and not have anyone call the cops on me. Side note, yes you will make those silly laughing sounds after firing it in full auto. No idea why, I still do to this day.

Company says to load 50 to avoid possible jamming so I keep it at that. I use a cigarette carton box marked at 50 rounds to make the counting quick and easy then load the 50 into the empty 1500 round "jar" to make loading the magazine much easier... The empty carton box is cut to load the 50 BBs to the 50 count line then they all roll into the BB jar (the kind with a nipple on the lid)...any cut up box will work but the cig carton was handy and easy to modify for the job. A shirt/clothing box will work just as well. HTH! BTW...my only problem with it is one of the magazines came from the factory with a broken gasket on the screw in plug that punctures the CO2 cartridge. It's green plastic gasket easy to see when the screw in plug is removed. It's very thin so I recommend ordering a few extra gaskets...HTH!

Should I get this BB gun for this upcoming Christmas? I really love it and it would be my first full auto BB gun. But I have heard it jams quite a lot, but otherwise it seems like a great gun. Also have heard some bbs are better in it than others, so any tips? Thanks

I just got mine it did jam. I lubricated the area that the BBs ride in with dry graphite dust, smearing it in good with a pipe cleaner. It seemed to work but it's to early to give a definite assessment. I also bought an M1A1 Thompson. It has worked flawlessly. The Thompson has a single column mag., the MP40 has a double column which holds almost twice the BBs. I am convinced that the mags are the problem. I called Umarex & told them about it. The said they are coming out with redesigned mags in mid-September. We'll see. I hope I helped. Bob

Unlike most of the comments here I am very disappointed by the performance of mine. The follower spring in the mag is not strong enough to push the BBs up. If only loaded with 10 or 15 rounds it works fine, and I will be the first to say, a lot of fun. If someone is the type that enjoys shooting, there is no way you can do anything, but get a kick out of one of these. If the mag is loaded ,even half way, say nothing of full, it will fire 4 or 5 rounds, then the BBs have to be manually pushed up the mag. I've tried Crossman copper coated and Umarex uncoated BBs, neither work any better than the other. It seems to me that if they made the mag single stack instead of double, it would cut capacity, but would actually work. Not much use having 50 rounds if they don't cycle. All in all, a disappointing product. Disappointing enough to send back though? OK no, but still would rather I had not bought it. Am I just putting a few rounds in it at a time, and still shooting it? Yes, but still!

I'm just kidding. It's your gnome and you can shoot it if you want to. Rock City Gardens has garden Gnomes dating back at least 100 years. New management back in the 70's was going to replace them with "better" illuminated Gnomes until the accident. Then they decided to "very lovingly" clean and refurbish the originals. You go through the gardens today and you can still see the little guys peeking out from under rocks and small caves. An odd thing about Rock City Gardens in the Smokey Mountains, despite millions of tourists every year they have never had to hire anyone to pick up litter at the park. They hold beautiful events at night but a policy dating back to the days of Garnet Carter himself states that every person from guests to employees must exit the park by midnight. The area was inhabited by native American Indians for thousands of years. There was also a Civil war battle there with a weird twist. There had been fighting in the area but on the morning of an all out assault by Union troops they found the area around Rock City strangely abandoned the night before. Muskets, cannon, munitions and even food were left abandoned.
