Hail from tennis ball to softball sized inside a 90 mph wind macroburst. These hailstones are already coming down at 70-80 mph but now add like 70-90 mph to that and it's quite literally insane. And the wind caused significant damage by causing roofs to rip off of houses and gas station canopies to collapse, and the hail destroyed windows of houses and car windshields and tore up vegetation. The hail looks like snow on the ground after only a couple of minutes. This was an absolutely insane storm. If this had hit only about 20-30 miles north, with the same conditions occurring, the strongest parts of this storm would have hit the most populated areas of Charlotte, North Carolina. Absolutely insane.

@@michaelhalir6815 it could have been either one. Microbursts are generally smaller but more powerful, and macrobursts cover a much larger area. They are both powerful downbursts. Since this storm affected such a large area I think it was a macroburst

My dad used to go out and watch tornadoes while my mom would scream for him to come inside. We had a tornado last year and I was in the basement yelling for my husband and grandson to come downstairs. They were just standing in the kitchen eating sandwiches and talking. All of a sudden they came tearing down the stairs. They heard a train. We have no railroad tracks for 20 miles!! 😂😂

Honestly I think their laughter and comments are in reality a nervous laughter and that is how they were dealing with what horror was happening at that moment. That laughter was fear, anxiety and not having any kind of control over what was happening. The damage that the home was enduring, I’m sure they even thought that they might not live through it. Some people react this way.

Yeah, that was not a tornado. The NWS said it was a microburst with winds up to 90mph. We had a storm a lot like that one here where I am in 1992, but not quite this strong.

If it’s a tornado which looks like one probably seek shelter for safety. Why stand there by the windows and doors? And check your phones for weather. I go to severe weather outlook and I use WAPP sounds like a silly name but very accurate. To me this is just ridiculous. ❤

2:10 a hail ball bounced into the lamp then a second or two later the lamp snaps. For whatever reason this whole thing is actually funny, lets face reality, freaking out won't help ANYTHING all you can do is make light of the situation.

This was no tornado, it was a so called downburst. A lot of cold air drops fast down in a supercell.

So irresponsible. A grown adult, father, and husband not properly guiding his family on how to be safe during a severe weather event. And then just before the 5 minute mark he comments on a passing car.... "why are you driving, go home." Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. If you had been under a tornado the house would be gone. Those were extremely strong straight line winds like a derecho. Not a tornado.

I’m sorry you loss so little in this storm there are people in the middle of our country who lost there whole house off the foundation and family members with it. I will continue to pray for all the people who suffered in these bad storms yours included. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🌧️🌨️🌪️
