Umidigi always focused on the hardware side and not on the software side. But I guess that's their main selling point, offering premium look devices with a cheap price

On your full review on this phone how the battery is. Do it drain very fast or get hot fast? I know that was a big issue when umidigi first came out

It's funny cause I'm a big fan of exactly the opposite of what you're a big fan of. 😅 But I'm still excited to get it. The features I don't like (that you do) aren't a huge deal so I can live with it. 😊 Can't wait til I get it!

Nice review Kevin. UMIDIGI new box and new logo looks a bit chintzy to me. The black box embossed with the logo were more premium in appearance. Why the backwards steps with specs…chip shortage? Words on back…eehhhh. I have two, Power & Power3, both still work, P3 better all around except for sound issues, both fast with better displays. Current trend seems like backwards progress. Never have had a major update for either of those UMI

I activated the app drawer like he said at 5:09 which was handy in that respect BUT what definitely wasn't handy was at the same time it wiped 6 pages of shortcut link tiles!! Does anyone know if/how I can restore them? Or have they been flushed down the memory hole forever?! HELP!!

I just got the umidigi a9 pro. I'm not sure if I like it or not coming from having ALL of the samsung galaxy note phones. I'm used to a certain type of functioning that I guess I'm not getting from the A9 pro. However, because of the price point I decided to get it anyway. It was a debate btwn this A11 and the A9pro. But the specs on this A11 are actually downgraded even though it's newer than the A9pro. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

I'm looking for a new phone, so I passed by this video :) This phone, when searching for coupons, 4GB version, you can get for $100 in december 2021. My current phone is Redmi 7A, 2GB RAM, bought in 2019 for about $80. I would stay with the oldest Android version. WIth every update 2GB RAM was less and less spacious.

It sucks that att and cricket decide not to be compatible with umidigi. Definitely put a halt in me buying it right now

Their not compatible with most "third party" phones. I can see why with cricket though, that's more of a walmart brand (which works with & help walmart a lot). Walmart is very loyal to cricket & want cricket to be the same so I can't blame cricket there for making their things not being compatible with other companies. But at&t?! NO EXCUSE!!! That part really sucks! I hope you switch carriers, even if it's a lot more expensive. At least then you have a lot more phone companies to choose from in case apple, blu or oukitel doesn't last. (I'm starting to get worried about blu, so... 🤔)

I srsly love the fact that they made the phone have an iPhone 12 edge but to make the phone look more expensive than it is the front camera should also be like that of iPhone 12 and not the top notch pls tell the company abt that am a big fan of that front camera

I almost ordered the wrong thing. Found out it didn't make a huge difference so I would've been fine making that mistake anyway. 🙃 A9 is only slightly worse for extremely lazy people. Don't know what happened to a10 though. 🤔

That's a good emoji to use. I learned that whenever it has to go through customs clearance, it's basically guaranteed not to come (gets stuck). & with all this covid stuff, they're going to be even pickier. It's easier getting into the white house than getting even close to customs. Definitely the hardest thing to get to & through. Tightest security in the world, I think.

Kevin, got leads for sim card locked devices? My Umidigi S5 Pro won't read my straight talk (tmobile) sim or my 256gb sd card, any help with be appreciated

Don't really know about T-Mobile SIM cards but have you try to clean the SIM card or or even the SIM tray if that still don't work try replacing the SIM cards and if that still don't work try *replacing the SIM card tray* and if still then it's the smartphone

@@Charles-mu9ji it's just a working sim card for my unlock GSM Blu G9 pro, and I gave it to my Umidigi S5 Pro one day, it was fine, then Nevada was hit with a storm, I had to update the software, then it didn't work afterwards

Not 100% blocked IMEI, it's not blacklist because I already paid off the phone, and I can use it for wifi but if I wanna change my sim to that Umidigi, it says "no sim card" msg

Umidigi make great phones but sadly they don't up date them regularly and it's not easy to root and install custom roms either because of media tek. But if you don't care about security by all means buy their phones.
