I love this kind of play. For all of vanilla MvC3, there was exactly one style of play: aggressive. You *have* to go in, get long combos, etc. There were no choices, no differences. Everyone had the same goal, and it was all about who hit their combos or setups or whatever first. Now UMvC3 comes out and we *finally* have some diversity. People can have different strategies. Keep away works. Zoning works. And I'm glad to see matches that aren't just about who has the longest combos.

Look at all these salty asses in the comments. Morridoom is NOT easy. Your timing for the set ups needs to be IMPECCABLE, otherwise you are going to lose 2 characters (Morrigan/Doom assist), your opponent will gain 2 meters from the ensuing happy birthday combo, and they will get an incoming on your anchor character. As a Jill player who faces a few legitimate Morridoom teams often, Morridoom is not broken. You want to cry about something? Go watch a Flux/Flocker set and cry about how zero can zoom through the entire fucking screen, or plaster your entire team in a corner where he'll then proceed to kill any character that enters.

Although I do agree spamming Soul Fists like crazy is a cheap technique, it's still a technique, or rather, a tactic. Everyone's got their own. I could just go around spamming lights of heavies, Vergil's Judgment Cut all day, and honestly, that is still considered a tactic. You can't blame people for that. Besides, hating him and calling him a loser because of his spamming won't necessarily make him stop doing what he's doing; it isn't easy, either.

i don't think Morrigan should be banned or anything like that. Chris G is the only person to use her to her full potential. It would be kind of unfair to restrict Morrigan because ONE person is consistently winning with her. And please to those people that are just now joining the fgc or something like that don't think he's unbeatable lmfao. look up Chris G vs yipes and you'll see his ass get whooped. I completely agree that it's THE MOST BORING THING TO WATCH EVER. But oh well stay salty.

People who are hating on Chrisg I will tell you this. If you think the soul fist spam is cheap and easy and that Chrisg is a loser; why dont you guys try to do it as well as him. There are many who followed after Chrisg but none of the people who copied MorriDoom were as good as his Morrigan. So stop bitching and actually prove that you can do it before you talk shit about Chrisg and the way he plays.

Anyone can defend ChrisG by saying the same think, his technique is difficult to pull off. Be that as it may it's irrelevant to the actual argument. Think of it like this, you can spend your whole lifetime coming up with the worst insults that couldn't be replicated by anyone. when you put it in to action, you can't really defend him saying " if you think he's being an asshole, try to make up the same kind of insults and see how difficult it is. stop being so salty" don't defend ChrisG who is using a very unsportsmanlike like but effective technique by saying it's difficult. you can spend your whole life trying to be the best asshole, but your still an asshole. Also these are the champion finals. would you want to go up against that?. bottom line it's ok for ChrisG to use that technique, just don't defend him by saying " it's difficult to pull off" instead respect his skill and balls to do it in a first place. besides it's fine if you're an asshole and you realize it.

While i would agree with the statement, even if they didn't have money on it, if i were commenting this i would either be bored out of my mind or pissed because someone is relying on spaming ranged soul fist the entire damn time and making his entire strategy that. This was a time when Morrigan fireballs barely had any counters like dormammu discovered. When you think about it, what is more harder? keeping a defensive zoning/spamming game, or mindless rushdown that had many people dead in a few 20-30 seconds(wolverine with Akuma, Magnus with drones or some kind of rushdown assist). This type of defensive play is basically the same magneto or wolverine rushdown except less flashy. To be fair, mindless wolverine rushdown is easier then fireball spam.

@Sloth7d Yeah but the risks associated with zoning are less pronounced. Especially if you can both zone AND apply offense at the same time. A lot of zoning techniques are meant to keep the user safe with only light pressure so the opponent is not in immediate danger until they try to approach. Morrigan+Doom spam is obnoxiously effective for how simple it is to do - it keeps the opponent out, heavily chips, AND auto punishes/juggles mistakes. It's like playing Rock AND Paper.

Much respect to ChrisG. I remember how I was a hater of his tactics but after watching him more and more and listening to him speak about it, I know now that it's dumb to hate someone for doing what it takes to win. It may be boring to some people, but how is watching things like level 3 oroboros Strider any better. This game's about being cheap, get a cheap team and win, or use the team you want and don't complain.

Well yes, but I had the entire topic in my mind. His example of Strider Hiryu with LvL 3 X-Factor and Uroboros was the perfect example for it, since people don't mind that, but they do mind Chris' team. Chris actually has to pull off a not that easy to do tactic and to hit the opponents multiple times, while they can actually dodge that. And on the other hand you have Strider, who simply kills you and people don't consider that lame, even though it actually is.
