The briefing by Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of UNRWA, came at the request of Jordan.
It comes as UNRWA has faced pressure amid Israeli allegations members of its staff participated in October 7 attacks. A final report from an independent review of UNRWA, led by Catherine Colonna, is due on 20 April. Lazzarini said that while many countries have resumed funding for the agency after UNRWA quickly responded to Israel’s claims, including immediately terminating those accused, many funders have not returned.

The problem is not the UN. It is the USA aided and abetted by the UK, Germany, etc. The UN members not aligned with the USA are fighting hard to get help for Gaza/Occupied territories. Israel/zionists have corrupted and taken over the USA. Biden has said he is a zionist. The world can see what is happening and the truth but the USA/UK/etc still say there''s no evidence of genocide. Israel wants UNRWA out so there is no one keeping the world informed of the atrocities Israel has done for years and keeps doing. Israel has not supplied any proof of any allegations they have made against UNRWA and that''s because Israel is lying as usual.

According to official sources since October 7. Seventy three thousand civilians have been injured and 34 thousands civilians have been killed. Their houses have been demolished. Stop this hypocrisy. We don't have any value. The entire world is silent. We have to keep religion, language, color aside. At least they are humans. Innocent children are being killed and paralyzed.

The world is not silent. Most of us can't sleep at night or concentrate on our daily affairs. It's the US who is an obstacle because some of the politicians are dual citizen Israelis and others are well paid in advance including the US president with hundreds of thousands of dollars. If the US was fair and honest Israel would be gone within 24 hours.

That would accomplish nothing as it would also kill the legitimacy of the council. They need to get rid of the veto of the permanent members and replace it with a supermajority. They should also make votes of the general assembly enforceable. There should also be windows of action placed on both of these.

UN should be reorganised and moved to a neutral country. Its rules should comprise a limited right to veto the decisions made, furthermore it should have a force to apply the decisions taken in the name of humanity. There seems to be a lot of discussion about the crisis in Gaza, but very little UN peacekeeping action, taking place!!! People and their children are dying,as nothing much is being done, day after agonising day, week after week.Action is what is required, not just hot air!! If the UN at this time cannot exert ANY kind of authority for at least humanitarian aid, then what is the point of its existence. Clearly, Israel can do whatever it wants. THAT has become the precedent. And, just as Israel can do what it wants, who is to say that other nations will follow Israel's precedent. All the rhetoric and no action plan IS the precedent. This will not end well.

Because they have no leg to stand on, you can't be a refugee and then do things like in oct and hope to keep refugee status... Ain't that obvious? Also i don't see a reason why they need their own private organization while the rest of the world has 1 to share that has half the staff and has to tend to way more people. You also can't keep refugee status forever like they seem to do over there, not one culture ever has had 75 years of refugee status, they can have houses and businesses and still be a refugee, how? That is not how that works.
