The UN human rights chief announced she will be making a visit to China in May, including the Xinjiang province where activists say China is subjecting Uyghurs to genocide. During the ongoing 49th UN Human Rights Council session the Tibet Bureau in Geneva urged the UN Human Rights Council to press China to give unfettered access to Tibetan regions during the visit.
