I've been trying for years to try and teach people NOT to solder like that. Those solder joints are very fragile and should not be used in anything outside of the lab workbench. Good solder joints start with a good mechanical connection. Unfortunately people see this and think they can use tack soldering anywhere. I usually get the call to fix it then.

They most likely used solder with a high led content and on several of those there was a lot of flux. With good tools and a little experience , it's not that difficult.

Those first few connections were made with a magic wand, the way he made it look! But i hope there is some better background music available to complement this video and not subtract from it like it does now IMHO.

2 is normal astable oscillator but I don't know if LDR works like shown 4 is AC detector which electroboom already explained a while back I don't know what's the point of first and the last project but I have my doubts about 3rd one

@@DJAltro Last project seems to be a boost converter where you drive a high voltage LED with a low voltage power source. The LED is both rectifying element and load in one. The BD193 (Q1) is the 'chopper' that makes the voltage through the inductor spike every time it chops off the current. That voltage spike then exceeds the voltage threshold of the LED making it emit light. The other components are there to drive the chopper with an oscillating signal.

I enjoy your videos. I learned electronics in the mid-60's just before the advent of integrated circuits. It's fun to watch you build circuits using analog parts. I built a lot of Heath Kits back in the day -- multivibrators, AM radio kits, sinewave generators, etc.

@@freddyli5356 -- I did teach a course in Basic Electronics to a Community College night class back in 1980. Each night I had a lab where the students built the type of analog circuit that I taught the theory on. However, I'm 76 now and my mind is not nearly as sharp as it needs to be to teach again. I have severe arthritis in my lower spine that prevents me from standing and walking for more than a couple of minutes. Ten years ago I was climbing mountains in Arizona, Maryland, Colorado, and Utah. Then I broke my back in a fall which led to the arthritis. Oh to be young again!

I was into hobby electronics in the 90's and have done all these. The attached a-stable multivibrator was a starting point and I knew it only as disco light until graduation when it was finally explained. Cheers from India

Nice video. I grew up in the 70’s when every kid with a knack for electronics had a soldering iron and a workbench by the time they were 9 or 10 years old. I still experiment with electronics nearly daily. Curiosity and discovery makes for a rich life.
