I had the pleasure of seeing her perform this in concert many years ago. When she holds that really long “any moooooooooooooore” it is incredible! The musicians actually stopped playing at one point while she held that note. I didn’t think anyone could go that long without breathing in. She is undeniably the most powerful female singer of her time! Truly amazing. You really should listen to: 1) If That’s What It Takes 2) To Love You More

Yes!! Now, if no one can beat Whitney's performance of the Star-spangled Banner, then no one can stand up to Celine's rendition of God Bless America (sang for 9/11 victims). And O holy night, but that will be recommended by somebody else :D Cheers! Definitely ore of Celine reactions, pleeeaseee!

This is why Celine is respected and loved by the true singers of today, they know they can never match that and acknowledge that too She is one of the few singers that can bring me to tears with her singing and performance.Some of her live performences send a chill down my spine every time i hear them. It amazes me that somepeople today don't even know her and claim to be music fans !

You need to watch her live version of I Surrender!! She holds a note at the end that is honestly the longest note I've ever heard. Watching her live is breathtaking and captivating. She is one of the few that sounds better than the studio version. You will not be disappointed. 🤩🤩♥️♥️♥️

This radio edit cuts out the most stunning instrumentation in the whole song--David Foster's production during the breakdown packs a punch when Celine comes back in for that high note. Definitely check out the full-length LP version in your spare time. As for that note, the hubby and I saw her in concert at the end of the 90s, and the audience fell to a nervous hush as she worked her way towards that note and then lost it when she belted it out. Even she raised her fists in a silent cheer for herself for pulling it off live!

I remember when this song was originally released by the songwriter, Eric Carmen, in the 70's. I really didn't like it, I would actually change the radio station when it came on. And then Celine released it and I loved it. She could seriously sing anything and make it sound great.

To react to what was said after she lost her husband, who was as you said everything to her during her first live performance she broke down during this song and had to leave the stage for a while, you could see she was heartbroken !

She did the love theme for Titanic, My Heart will go on. That song was offered to Whitney Houston. She turned it down. The rest is history

Actually you are wrong. It was never offered to Whitney Houston but was intended for a Norwegian named Slssell but was decided to use Celine who didn’t want to do it but her husband talked her into it. The demo was actually used and Whitney was never in the running for this song.

Celine Dion management really wanted to create a memorable soundtrack like Whitney did with I Will Always Love You. They tried to do it with Because You Loved Me. It's the memorable song but not for a movie. But then, they saw My Heart Will Go On has a potential since Titanic is a huge movie. So, her late husband convinced Celine to do the demo even Celine didn't like the song at all. During the demo, Celine drank a black coffee and go straight for a demo. The whole studio is so moved by her performance and even James Cameron agree to put this song as a soundtrack after hearing the demo. Celine said in the interview afterwards that she glad her late husband convinced her to recorded a song.
