Unbelievable! White People Ended Slavey? Candace Owens

In this candid conversation, award-winning talk show host and social commentator Candace Owens shares her thoughts on the history of slavery in the United States.
Most people believe that white people invented slavery, and that it was a benign institution that ended with the Emancipation Proclamation in 1865. Candace Owens has a different perspective, and she shares it in this candid conversation with talk show host Brittany Pettibone. In her opinion, slavery was actually ended by African Americans themselves through a militancy that culminated in the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s.

Well, in our country if the Democrat party was the one committing these atrocities, well after slavery was abolished (slavery, KKK, Jim Crow, Lynchings), and the Democrat party is the one dictating what schools teach on history, there is a conflict of interest. We need to have objective views to get to the truth.

Well in Saudi Arabia it's illegal to sell slaves and yet they have 24000 African slaves, so how did they get these people,,, easy they kidnapped them and sold them. But nothing is said or done about that also the largest slave trade is child sex trafficking.
@Jcikokalol

That was what was thought until we just learned their trafficking slaves into America to work...America is allowing it, but not doing it. But the simple fact they're allowing it means none of these people actually give a damn about slavery. It was all just a ploy and a tactic to gain power

even in those countries its not technically legal, its "maybe legal" theres a lot of grey areas in poorer countries that skirt slavery, meaning in africa if you give a worker a home and never pay them, thats legal slavery, if you just dont pay them thats illegal, its all about the loopholes
@fido2644
@fido2644 5 ай бұрын
@@bigfrankfraser1391 wrong I've been to Africa and no there's three countries that practice slavery and in Saudi Arabia they to still practice slavery just it's no longer legal to sell slaves. But the most disparaging part of all of this is the child slave trade that even goes unnoticed by the media. And is often called "a right wing conspiracy theory", even though there was a church in Georgia that got raided for trafficking young children and the pastor got elected to Congress under the Democratic party ticket. Just let that one sink in.

Racism is taught...we need to unlearn it ❤
@HikaHima
@HikaHima 5 ай бұрын
In other words, we need to stop teaching it in schools? Because for awhile it wasn't and that generation grew up to be colorblind and see everyone as equal. Now, the schools teach that being colorblind is the problem and teaches them to be oppressors or oppressed the day they were born because of their skin color and racism has skyrocketed in the areas it's being pushed. Guess where that is? By the democrats (the party of slavery) against the white republicans (the ones who gave their lives to end slavery because that was the right thing to do and we knew our own history of being slaves). This is important because I was actually in the school system when they changed the curriculum to rewrite history and start doing everything possible to dumb down the students. I even called a teacher out on it in private and you know what she said? "We don't have a choice, the government made this order and we have no choice but to follow it. Look, the other kids can't know about this and you can't question teachers on this or they will have to punish you for it. Keep your head down and go with the flow or you'll be knocked down like the nail head that sticks up." So what did I do? I stood up against every one of the teachers who started teaching the new false narrative of history and the forced politically correct speech in writing/assignments. Did I get punished? Yes, they tried to give me a "C" on a science test when I got all of the science questions right, but they had 5 personality/behaviors questions at the end and I answered that I was "An Introvert" instead of doing the apparent correct response of I was "An Extrovert". So what did I do? I got the principle involved and then threatened to make the truth public to the media and protest on the street to expose the school. I got the paper corrected to an "A" though the school tried to get me out of school as soon as possible by moving me up a grade for being too smart. So what did I do? I said no, and I stayed in that school the entire time giving students advice, the truth, and teaching them how to learn and think for themselves. I couldn't get to all of them, but I got to enough of them to make a difference. We have to get back to teaching the truth and how to think for ourselves, and not teaching the desired ideology wanted by the corrupt.

England banned slavery within its own country in the 11th century the formal declaration referred to here was the last of a series of laws past for the colonies. This seems odd until you understand the model for the British empire was that they supported private ventures and in return they traded through Britain. This gave the colonies the right to rule in favour of having slaves independently of mainland Britain for far too long but this journey started in the 11th century after William the Conqueror took charge of England. The British also blockaded the continent of Africa to stop the slave trade fighting every country that was still profiting from the trade

I feel so fortunate that my mother hated racism. I was too young to know what it even was. I remember my family having friends over who were black and it was nothing. And this was in the 70's in Texas. Then neighbors were angry and used words I'd never heard before and my mom got in their face and told them if they used that word in front of her son again, she was going to give them a punch in the jaw. And she meant it. For me, people were always just people. My mom used to say "What a boring place the world would be if we were all the same". She taught me to love and embrace the differences in people and different cultures. Like I said, I'm very blessed. And the result was I always had friends from every ethnic background. No need for any labels other than "friend".

This old white fourth generation vet who's ancestors fault for the Union under the first Republican president Abraham Lincoln. I really enjoy the fact you are opening your minds. Not only am i a 4th gen vet, my three older brothers served my four uncles, my two great uncles and so forth, going back. I found it interesting what you were taught growing up. I think its important that discussions like this happen. Never be surprised by hurt feelings when critical thinking is required. It is a valuable part of Critical Thinking. It is almost a required part of critical thinking. It is the pain generated by killing our stupid ideas. We can think and dream up some stupid ideas. When we sleep and we are basically paralyzed when we dream, so we dont act out our stupid ideas and kill ourselves. Never be afraid of putting your ideas out there to stand on their own and see if they can stand the challenge of critical thinking, understanding the fact, that is where stupid ideas die, not good ones. You might find what i was taught by my dad interesting. I ask you to please set aside the narrative the two headed beast called Congress tries to push for a little bit and ask yourself, why the difference at the end. My dad (WW2 vet) dispized racism. He told me you will never see true good or evil, if you cant see past the color of the skin they both hide in. He said, if you place a picture of Lincoln and Hitler next to each other and only see two white men. You are being dangerously foolish. That goes for every race and color. He also said, if you put red and black ants in a glass jar, they will get along fine. If someone shakes the jar, they will think the others are attacking and kill each other. So find the wisdom to look at who is shaking the Jar and why, before going to war with the ones you share society with. I would bet what i was taught would be kind of surprising huh. Remember what i asked you to question? Lol. I tell you what, go watch both the inconvenient truth of the Democratic party and the inconvenient truth of the Republican party. I would also suggest watching facts about slavery they don't teach in school. Those three alone will generate a lot of critical thinking. If you do in the future. I will fill in facts that will show you things from a different view and things in a whole different light. First if you looked at the main media on TV as grooming, instead of news, again ask why? This all might not make sense now but it will. Enjoyed your reaction and always search for your own Truth and never take anything people tell you as truth, not even me. You verify facts so you find your truth that critical thinking can't kill. So you know what you are or are not backing. Have an amazing night.

I don't see any likes or comments from the Dean Bros on any comment in this thread. That leads me to believe they are only here for the views, comments, etc. to make KZfaq money. So, my question to them is, what conversations have you had with your Bruthas and Sistas since watching this? And in the unlikely event you did have those conversations, how did they go??

I love how people never mention the first owner of a black slave in America was a black man Anthony Johnson. and at the height of black slavery in America its estimated 13% of slave owners were black people.

You'll Know when you've arrived when you discover the truth of how Native American Tribes were more then just red skinned..they were really light skinned to red to ruddy brown, to brown all the way to black with kinked and or straight hair! Also look up the first black slave owner in America... It will fry your brain!

I’ve never been told not to be around anyone based off of their race, but a lot of black ppl are taught that yt ppl are bad which creates racism to yt ppl. It’s horrible, most of our parents as yt ppl taught us inclusion and acceptance of everyone but we get a lot of hate for the misunderstandings of history

As a great man once said, judge a man on the content of their character and not the color of their skin... You can thank Martin Luther King Jr for that and it means just as much today as it did back then for all people. I'm a white dude from alabama and the one guy I consider my paternal brother other than my brother is a guy named Mario, we grew together he has tattoo's all over him oh and he is black, he is one of the most honest and kind hearted person I have had the honor to know. I truly love him as a brother and both of our families are really close because of our friendship. It truly saddens me at the unthinkable number that is the lost friendships or relationships humans have endured just purely based on someone's color, its actually sickening that in 2024 people still talk about race.. A lot of people of all races have fought and paid the ultimate price so that we can ALL live free so what gives me or ANYONE the right to judge someone based on the color of their skin. I am no lefty but I firmly know we should give each other at the very least the benefit of doubt, because if you looked at me with no tattoo's, clean shaved wearing jeans a T-shirt and cowboy boots next to my brother Mario that we would have nothing in common and would have a unbreakable friendship. In short just be good to your fellow humans it will only benefit you in the end.

Sweden got rid of slavery already in 1335 but some people in our few colonies did partake to a small degree in the trans Atlantic slave trade because it was hard for the crown to police them.

I'm in my 40's, and when i (white) was growing up, white people never mentioned skin color. Nobody cared. Each human was an individual. Some were cool as fck, and some were jerks. Skin color was no predictor. That has changed in the past 5 years. I have heard more racist comments from both white and black people in the past 5 years than in the other 30+ years of my life combined. The academics, news media, and HR people at workplace have revived racism.

In 1830, there were 3,775 black (including mixed-race) slaveholders in the South who owned a total of 12,760 slaves, which was a small percentage of a total of over two million slaves then held in the South. 80% of the black slaveholders were located in Louisiana, South Carolina, Virginia and Maryland

These people missed the ENTIRE message, and Candace Owens distracted them by speaking on slavery throughout history and other parts of the world. The ONLY thing Black Americans care about are the history and facts of BLACK ENSLAVEMENT in North America/United States!! Everything else is IRRELEVANT!! Also - whites do NOT get credit for ending slavery, because they should NEVER have been enslaving Black people in the first place!!

Well think about this. A slave cost more than a mule. A mule was a tool used to work. Would you beat a mule to to the point that it could not work, or would you take care of it to get the most out of it? There was a language barrier and at times it was cruel, I'm not disputing that. But story's do grow over time to inhance the story.

If you want to know about the end of slavery then you have to look up an Englishman named “Granville Sharpe”, he was a taylor and a layman from Leeds in England and he brought a famous court case in England after he helped an American black slave get free, his name was John Somerset. The judgment of the case was “ No slave can be in England and breath the free air”. Meaning that any slave making it to England was automatically Free! It’s a very interesting case, look it up!!! 😁👍
