@@pigs6486shifts an acceptable way to explain it, think of it like a video game RPG character who has maxed out their current potential. Thus halting their growth potential until they grind/gain the knowledge, materials, etc. to reach that next tier which would be IM to GM. although he said he has no desire to get that next tier so he won't put in the work as it would'd take away from his youtube and twitch. now he has played GM-level games 100s of times and is probably better them some people with the GM title but none of that matters unless you can achieve the tournament wins required for said title.

@@pigs6486 Your comment sounds quite disrespectful, although it might be due to you not knowing what you're talking about. He is on a level of chess most reach by having been taught chess since their childhood, and a lot stronger then one becomes by just studying chess for one or two years (well, most people anyways). The issue is that studying chess is _hard_. One has to learn so much in both concepts and possible lines (or why certain lines aren't possible) that one is never done with it. Besides that, playing chess is more complex then just applying what you studied. A game lasts hours, events multiple days. You don't sit in front of a screen, but in front of your opponent. You don't go home, have a beer and forget everything about the games, you analyse them and prepare refutations if you could face them again. You can't blame others for your losses, it's noone you could even share the blame with, it's just your inability to either calculate a line/remember an opening (trap)/estimate a position. That's something that really gets to you. Anyways, becoming a GM is _hard_.

He is showing again that when he is truly motivated (as he is with the chess drama I believe), he is clearly on another level compared to other players. it is really good to see him getting motivation again even if it is clearly not "the best reason" cuz after his announcement about the world chaampionship, it felt like he might not find it again (that true fucking rage to win since he achieved everything) We re seeing why clearly that this guy is unplayable, and clearly it must be hard for him to motivate himself to still work hard when he s clearly stronger) He set up the 2900 objective in classical to motivate himself and to me, this shows that he clearly can do it and he is probably 100 elo up the others, so he might need more dramas and more criticism maybe on other subjects to motivate him more As a true champion, he's way better when he feels pressure (of any kind) than when he's confurtably dominating the game. He's like a Djokovic (criticism/pressure= fuel) in that sense so he doesn't like being seen as a Federer which he is

Magnus is the best player ever in slow and manouvering games. And he follows that in front of strong opponents in finals. Meanwhile, Young kids like Arjun don't have much experience in these kind of slow grinding positions.

Levi is an incredible showman. No questions about it. Chess in my opinion isn’t exactly the most thrilling game to watch (especially for a new player that doesn’t understand the intricacies) yet he makes it incredibly interesting.

The scariest thing is that it's actually true. If he doesn't reach the final in a tournament he's in it's basically beyond a failure, his resume is ridicilous! Nr 1 since 2010, 13 WC titles and countless tournament victories. If you're a chessfan you should be a Carlsen fanboy, like me and Levy :)
@vezhayoboy

@@Kay-jg6tf I mean, one can not be a magnus fan boy and still like chess. For the same reason people find Superman movies boring, because he is so powerful it becomes obvious what's going to happen next.

The thing with Magnus is that he doesn't play by using patterns alone, he aims to do things out of the ordinary where people have no practice. As you know chess players of high caliber are mostly playing "memory", they remember what is the answer to what, so if you play in a way where the opponent can no longer do this it is very hard for them to actually make optimal moves fast. I think this is a big reason as to why he wins so much, he puts players in a situation where they feel uncomfortable and unpracticed.

Since you upload on a very regular basis (mostly daily), it would be really nice if you could have a fixed upload time. I know it would be a bit tough, but it will help both us (viewers) and you. We can have a fixed time to watch you, since you are most certainly part of our daily routine and also you can also have a consistent schedule + increased regular viewership! In any case, love your content! ❤️
