Unblocking a Toilet

plumber-electrician.co.uk Here's an easy way to unblock a toilet using a mop and plastic bag. You just wrap a plastic bag round the mop head to keep it clean and use the mop as a plunger to unblock your toilet.
If you don't have a mop or fancy doing the job if you live in the Wolverhampton area you can always call Owen you local Wolverhampton Plumber.
Unblocking toilets are a straight forward job the same as a lot of other plumbing jobs around the house. plumber-electrician.co.uk/

My toilet was blocked for several days and after using 4 different unblocking chemicals, 2 different plungers and a toilet snake this mop trick was the only thing that worked and it worked instantly! thumbs up mate!

Thanks so much for this tip. We tried the washing up liquid and hot water trick to no avail before resorting to a pressure washer with a drain cleaning attachment. After a couple of hours the blockage was slightly better but still not great. Five seconds plunging with the mop in a bin bag and the blockage was clear. Cheers!

Used this method at rental property today after trying different drain unblockers which didn't create a seal on basin. Worked at first attempt. Great tip.

8 years on and this trick still works a treat! A few prods and that saved a few horrible options, including calling a plumber or fishing out waste to put hot water down....THANK YOU!

Use a bin bag instead of a carrier bag and you won't have to deal with water getting into the bag. This means your mop isn't ruined or even touched by the water which is great if you don't have a spare head in.

Absolutely brilliant. I used a thick plastic bag without holes, covered with a thin supermarket bag with handles to tie the whole thing securely. Worked a treat and in seconds! I bleached the mop afterwards to be on the safe side. Many thanks :-)

Thank you for sharing this FANTASTIC method to unblock a WC. I had tried a rotating drain rod but it failed. This method took only 20 seconds to do the job. I used a bin liner around the mop to ensure that I could use my mop again.

Thank you, so much Mr. Cooper. I tried the washing up liquid and hot water method, but no joy! Used the mop, and covered the head in a free council delivered recycling bag...hey presto job done. Covered the used mop head with three more recycling bags and threw it out the bathroom window! Watch out, neighbours!

You're a superstar, blocked toilet, rodded out the whole of the drainge and still blocked, tried chemicals to free it up. About to call the plumber in and then tried this. Worked straight away, nice one.

Been using similar method for years. The most important thing to remember is to push down gently but firmly then pull up sharply. You don't need the supermarket bags, just the mop. Stand a bucket up close to the toilet bowl to dump the mop into after use.

This was a really helpful video- I had to improvise as I didn't have a mop- I covered a toilet brush with a tea towel and wrapped it in a carrier bag and shoved it down the toilet- it cleared it and did the same job as this video- v good vid for help

The fear you feel when your flushing the toilet and the water starts coming up instead of going down😭 used this method and did it for like 10seconds did not even use the mop but just a toilet brush and it worked! Thought I had to spend a whole lot of money on a plumber. Thank you sir! In 2019 you're still letting us save some coins.

supermarket bags have holes in - try a bin liner if you want to keep your mop clean!

OMG. Amazeballs, that so worked. I don't even have a mop. I wrapped the end of a broom stick with 2 tea towels and it worked 1st time . Sooooo impressed thanks.

After a quote of £105 from a plumber to unblock my toilet. Me using a metal coathanger, even went out and bought toilet unblocker tools. I was certain that the 3 meter wire unblocker would work. IT DIDNT. just watched this video at 08:23 its now 08:27 and my toilet is fixed. All that stress and all i needed was a MOP. thanks for the video.

I've a 5-year-old daughter who somehow is a serial toilet blocker. She did an absolute number on our downstairs loo just before going on holiday for a week last week. Before we left we tried boiling water, washing up liquid, pressure from a PVC tape and cling film cover and drain cleaner, and left it blocked for the whole week we were away, hoping it'd dislodge. Nope. 2 minutes of work with the mop and a bin liner and the blockage is clear. Cheers!

Fiona Riley Hi Fiona, he is what is known as a 'troll'. - There's a good saying how to get rid of them - 'don't feed the trolls'. (like don't feed the animals in zoos, etc) - Don't respond, just ignore them. They'll eventually go away, and find some other way to jack off. lol (sorry about the last part) I always see them as bored 14 yr olds.

Hi Owen cooper, I've struggled for 3 days trying myself have had my arms covered in s#it and it has stunk too,I got fed up trying with bent coat hangers and cut a piece of hose pipe nothing worked,this is why I'd looked on Internet for help your vid came up I tried it work in 10 seconds so THANK YOU buddy my fault for not looking sooner you've been a great help.........

Wow, i thought today was a losing day. One of the cats pooped in my son's bedroom. I used paper towels to remove the thick of it and flushed it down the toilet...silly, silly me! Having used hot water, drain tool, shampoo, caustic soda it seemed to be getting worse and then this magic... wow I pushed three times and lifted to see if anything was happening and the water drained away!!!
