@@jbuck3944 sorry I meant they don't charge you a service call after initial installation of the Q and an engineer is needed for the installation, they don't just send out Sky box and expect you to install them yourself.

No doesn’t need on mini boxes as connects to the main sky q boxes for example main sky q box is downstairs and two mini boxes upstairs

No you can’t do that I would maybe suggest sky magic eye or rf modulator for hdmi

So I love with 4 floor and the sky wifi box is used with a tp-link extender but has a different wifi name and password would it still work

@@MrjayC I’d just get a sky booster from sky rather use power lines as don’t think would work as main box would give a 2.4ghz &5 ghz signal to mini box but now days can get sky without a dish or even the sky glass tvs with it built in

@@Techkaos iv tried using the sky booster was no good didn’t reach to the bottom floors, maybe might have to give it a miss

With sky q yes you get two remotes one touch remote and one normal however the mini boxes only have one

Not to sure you know I’ve got the 2TB and two mini boxes 2TB came with the touch remote and normal remote and mini boxes just have normal remote

Yes correct with a active multi room subscription I bought one from sky then got four from eBay cheap engineer who installed mine said can have up to 10 connected to one main sky q box You can also pause in one room and resume in another

Yeah you can do yourself just get multiroom subscription first

Thanks i had a feeling i needed to get multiroom subscription which i don't have what abt getting a sky q mini can u just watch freeview channels only without multiroom subscription da box i'm getting rid of i was only watching freeview channels and to b honest i was happy wiv it record programmes and wasn't paying anything extra

No as hdmi is the signal for tvs

No need multi room once you get room can buy more mini boxes else where and have a maximum of 4 from one main sky q box

Yes sky q mini boxes connect wirelessly to main sky Q box for example if main box is downstairs the mini box upstairs will mirror box downstairs you can watch different channels up stairs , you can pause something downstairs then continue upstairs. If want to watch ppv events I would suggest set recording on main box then can watch on mini boxes too

No as has to connect to main sky q box as that’s knows what package your on etc

I use my own hdmi for my mini box no problems

It all depends if you have a Q box capable of FHD or UHD. If it is, and you don't have a HDMI 2.1 cable that is capable of pushing UHD or 4K, Sky supplies you with one.

Just plug hdmi into the box and other in tv along with power lead too

@@Techkaos but you need the hdmi cable even tho it’s all Wi-Fi no cables needed?

Yes hdmi needed so is the power only wires you need unless connecting box to sound bar with optical cable and if connected to router via Ethernet cable depends what you want
