2014 / 2015 was the beginning of a very tough time for the Thomas franchise. It's also the time when Mattel was attempting to push all the TWR items to be a 'direct to consumer' line. If you do a simple web search you will still see that idea to only sell online and the lure was 'exclusive' products. Looking back Mattel must have pre known Toys R Us were in dire straights and as history tells they did collapse. Maybe what I find amazing is normally straight track is uncommon in sets and even track packs. And as for the sale I did feel it was deceptive due to the lack of breakdown of what was actually on offer. Sure the 2" is needed BUT the amount of it had the sniff of just blowing up the number for the sale.

What an amazing deal for a bunch of TWR track! I would never buy something like that as I have too much Wooden track for how little I use it. The only Mattel TWR set with road was the Tidmouth Sheds Deluxe Set/roundhouse set.
