Timberland Pro Hypercharge. Lightweight, wide toe box, and really well cushioned. I bought the fabric ones and they are ridiculously comfortable. Now I'm out working out on sites again I bought the leather ones. There's no break in with the fabric ones but I have doubts about their longevity. I wouldn't even consider a pair of CATs' after trying a couple of different pairs over the years. Poor quality

After 2 months the toecaps are already showing through the composite material underneath. I paid £85 for them in a sale which my company refunded the cost of. Full price would have been £130ish. Very disappointed with the quality of the leather Timberland Pro. That company is just trading on it's brand name, disgraceful.

Microtechs are fun until you get the smallest amount of dirt or lint in them, which means you have to buy the weird ass tools to open it up. And you better hope you don't lose a spring

I'd be interested in seeing reviews of some laces. Heavy duty ones like Pisgah Range, and also paracord laces and elastic laces. Not too expensive to compare a bunch at once, and I think it would be interesting to the boot audience.

Great idea, some testing like breaking strength or abrasion resistance would be cool as well. Or heat resistance, compare nylon to leather laces

When i first started working, the second shift boot was honestly pretty good for the price. I wasn't expecting it to be amazing but it got the job done. I had that one rotation with my red wing 8 inch moc, and danner quarry. The only thing that broke on the 2nd shift after 2 years of work was an eyelet.

Can't speak to Caterpillars boot quality nowadays but back in the day they made great boots! I actually still have my first pair of steel toe Caterpillar works boots that my dad bought me in 1998 when I started working and I still wear them almost daily and they are as comfortable as ever. They could certainly use a resole as the heels have a slight angle wore into them but there's still tons of tread left on the rest of the sole and the leather is still holding up with zero cracks or holes just scuff marks and general wear, which is pretty damn good for a pair of work boots that I've wear pretty much daily going on 30 years now. I really hope the quality hasn't gone to shit like so many other manufacturers have. Edit: spelling

I used to like the classic Colorado boot from Caterpillar (the one closest to Timberland, not the one in this video). They were good for the price, lasted long enough. Now the quality has dropped. They're not worth the money anymore.

Now this is the set of reviews I need. I love the detail of your reviews, but I can't afford most of the boots you showcase. I buy boots in the range of these Caterpillars and try to get them to last a year through hard use in the wet Florida climate. (Landscaper/Maintenance) I'm passing this video on to all my coworkers.

For Fly In Fly Out FIFO workers the composite toe is a godsend when going through airport security. At least here in Australia where you don't need to remove your shoes.

I’d love to see more safety boots cut up! My last work supplied pair split, collapsed, lost waterproofing and eyelets within three months. The pair I purchased after have lasted me three and a half years of every day use!

Caterpillar boots are probably the "posh" site boot here in the UK. Trojan are probs standard issue now for most lads on site.

My least favourite boots ever are some Cat steel toe that I got 10 years ago. Very uncomfortable. I've had great boots from Danner, Red Wing, & now, Jim Green, that I prefer.

Can you please do a review of QLTY’s moc toe boots. I’ve been looking for a pair of comfortable work boots because I walk all day at work and I need them to be all black for my uniform. And they’re the only decent ones I could find with a black wedge sole but I didn’t want to buy them without knowing how quality they really are so I’d really appreciate a review.

I'd like you to throw in the rockrooster boots when you compare the cat boots to the timbs. I really think you are too harsh on the rockroosters. My pair of their chelsea boots have been great. I believe they are punching way above their weight class.

When I first got into boots in the 90's all I wore were Cat boots. Over 25 years in Cat boots. I still have five or six pair new in box in my closet that have been there for probably five or more years. I bought so many because I got a good price at the time and knowing they wouldn't last more than a year each before you walked holes in the soles. That last part is why I had to walk away. Once you get over paying for real boots you can't go back to plastic welted Wolverine crap.

Would you prefer roses on your anvil, or tulips on your organ? Those Cat boots didn't hold up for me. Not expensive compared to others but not great durability.

Not gonna lie, I am dissapointed with my Caterpillar Holton, which I wear daily. The insole is not durable and lasted about half a year, so only as long as Puma sneaker insole. My Adidas sneaker insole is still perfectly fine after over a year. That's no biggie thou, I just put a piece of leather that I cut to shape in there. The shoelaces also riped after half a year. Still no biggie The outsole is quite worn, I can already the the treads. But most importantly the leather on the front of the shoe is badly worn, the transition of the steel toe cap even has developed tears. This boot won't make it a full year and that's bummer. Well at least the comfort is great
