About OFF GRID with DOUG and STACY:
We moved to our 11 acres in 2011 from a large city in the Midwest with zero carpentry and farming skills. We live with no solar / wind power / public water or well. We share our adventure to a sustainable life, growing our own food from vegetables to meat. We post videos DAILY and they range from HOW TO to EVERYDAY LIFE and NUTRITION on the off grid homestead. We were city folks just like you probably and wanted to enjoy life and have more control over our food. We share food recipes as well as natural remedies.

I’m a veteran of 4 American conflicts: 2 which I fought in and 2 which I was on stand by to go but didn’t. During one we trained soldiers to go to fight because we had more rifle time than any other company. I applaud your sons who are serving today. Going into a war time military takes real “balls” and as a parent it has to take nerves of steel to have not one but two children in a war time military. God bless you and may he keep your sons safe as he did me.

Osha regulations for fall protection require 3 saddles and they have to be alternating two the way you put them and one has to be opposite. Theres even spec on how far apart they have to be. Had to do this when blasting and painting water towers.

Awesome! I love the smell of fresh cut lumber! My roommate has a band sawmill that he made years ago. He has a cabin that he build for $800 years ago. His brother used the sawmill to cut lumber to build his own home. Also he has made several chicken coops, brooders, sheds, and hunting shacks. He has cut lumber and sold as well. It will definitely pay itself off with all that you can save from making your own lumber. Can’t wait for future videos on it.

I've used 'Crosby clips' for years in underground mining to make cable slings, pipe hangers (up to 4" diameter- 20' long steel pipes), and never had problem with the Crosby clips coming undone. I installed them which ever way worked at the moment, time is money, but I was taught to always use a minimum of three Crosby clips per connection, btw I was an underground miner for 43 years with government of Ontario (Canada) certification.

By far the best channel, because it's not loaded with gifted items in return for youtube exposure, e-begging, free tractors on loan for years, etc, or any of this other nonsense where half a million dollars worth of depreciating items are sitting around on a homestead that generates a 50th of that amount in value to the owners each year. FAR and away the best - you guys live like people would live near where I grew up (rural) as a kid. Some of those folks. especially bachelors, checked out of the grid after the depression and never came back on. They were a wealth of knowledge, never had any debt, didn't have a whole lot of income and their first answer in solving a problem wasn't "go buy XYZ". I absolutely love that you're not e-begging or saying "ask your question here and if you give us $10, we'll answer it" in superchats.

My father recently acquired a Woodland Sawmill. Sure it ain't American made, it's Canadian made so at least it ain't Chinese built. The alternative to procure wood planks in a relatively cheap way is very good. In my country Costa Rica although the wood is in your property; You must get a permit to trade the wood. But it is still attractive and to some extent friendly to the environment; It is powered by battery. Excellent video and greetings from Costa Rica, Central America.
