You should do a "plant genes of the week" where you explain about a species of plant. For example talking about monsteras, telling people what defines it and giving some exaples from that specific species.

@@petevsplants7516ES Please do this! I'd watch every episode....I think a lot of your audience comes back, partially, because of your biological knowledge AS WELL as the beauty of your collection. I'd absolutely help on the research to get your perspective. Lol. Please please, start this new series. It would be a huge success...in fact, I'm going to remember the original commenter here and mention this idea in every video I watch of yours...if enough people see it, I'm sure it will be a hit to your channel. I think you should start very basic....like pothos. Everyone loves pothos and you could even get into the reasoning of why no one has seen a pothos bloom in decades. It would be fascinating....next I think maybe monstera, because the are very popular. Then maybe tradescantia? That would be interesting and definitely catches the interest of people who have their basic favorite types.

Your unboxing are so educational and entertaining at the same time! Just keep buying and your viewers will save their marriages and live vicariously through you! And now I can’t get the image of one male the size of King Kong running amok up and down streets getting turned down by all the women who can now reproduce without him! Thank you for the sci-fi images that somehow came about by you unwrapping plants! Oh how the mind works!!!!

Aroid person here! I love looking at cacti and living vicariously through people with cacti 😂 Like with puppies, love the experience of seeing one and interacting with them, but don't want to bring one home kinda thing lol. Also, as a new subscriber of yours, the biology facts and "ramblings" will be what keeps me constantly coming back to your channel. So keep being you and filming as long of videos as you need and we will be here to watch! 😊 P.s. ALL of the greenhouse tours please and thank you! 😂

Can you visit outside Aroid gardens in differing climates, not only state to state but plains to hills etc. Even botanical gardens - local knowledge would be beneficial for all of us who are just starting out. I'd like to gauge how large I can get mine. And, a few ideas on how to protect them in Winter & Summer. Thank you Pete. 🌱

Some nice cacti. I went and spent a bit of coin last week on my first four Ariocarpus. Your right about the Astrophytum sizes in Australia. Although I did get a huge grapefruit sized Capricorn Major with some pretty good markings and some wicked spines for only $38 on ebay. Love the story of the Kamodo Dragon, wow never heard that. So the Hulk is so big he does have muscles in his poo. Great video Pete, Noah and cat.

Aroid person here just loving your enthusiasm for any and all plants 💚 Also evolution is and always has been my jam so this was great, not only plant p0rn but also phylogeny p0rn. Twice as satisfying. 😂 Dying a little at the $$$$$$ spent on weird little prickly things 🤣but hey that's why we prop and sell what we have, so we can afford more plants, weirder and rarer plants. YES Billy Connolly is a legend. That quote I think he was talking about Whoopi Goldberg? Lovely lovely man I went and saw him when he was on tour in Australia in I think 2003. On celebrity crushes I do think blokes are less likely to get away with being openly enamoured with a celebrity whereas women seem to do it all the time. How cool for Noah to get his own unboxing sesh too. Thanks Pete this was a good start to my week. :)

Got my first cactus from my siblings roommate a few months ago, was a pretty big heffa but had 0 roots, both beefs died of rot pretty quickly and that smell... But, I've gotten a few more since then, they move on the same plane as succulents for me altho I've had more luck with cacti so I have more of those, the succulents get thrown in the garden and they can pray to survive winter, my cacti are pretty much all just whatever will be on sale and looks nice, couldn't care less abt rare or even their names 😅 just love how they look in terracotta and I have a lot of pots from before I put my aeroids in pon

@@petevsplants7516 Yeah, it's a huge shame that the most common Nepenthes in tissue culture for the mass market are also some of the blandest and least exciting. There's such a variety too! The pitchers can be anything from squat golfballs to huge 40cm+ mouse eating chonkers. With colors of cream and red striping to pure black. Leaf shapes range from narrow blades to heartshaped shields, there's wavy ones, species with pure red leaves and even some with black and red mottling. And the easy species and hybrids aren't even that difficult. If one can grow aroids, one can grow Nepenthes.

And if you're willing to spend big bucks, you can check out Exotica Plants, which is an Australian nursery making some of the most exciting and beautiful, yet easy to grow, hybrids in the world. But for every expensive statement piece, there's some cheaper alternative in the Nepenthes world as well. Yeah, I'm kinda obsessed with these plants. I have like 20+ species lol.

How to care for them,how often do you water them ?
@petevsplants7516

You don't have to do it anywhere near as often as aroids fortunately :D maybe once every 7-10 days during the growing season and then once a month in dormant season.

Love the uniqueness of your videos. They’re entertaining first (and always) but also, I learn so much (mostly about things I didn’t know I didn’t know) 😂 Absolutely great content period… even though I barely care about cacti (grew up in Texas, I live in California). Sidenote, the bit about why it’s less acceptable for guys to be as openly into unattainable women, is an interesting topic. Good people can disagree. But men, not you, have historically held a position of power. They didn’t use that power to advance the general welfare of women or to elevate their status except for maybe when they found specific women attractive. When they did, it didn’t always go well for those women. It will take decades or longer for women to have the same leverage on average as men (assuming it ever happens). So when women are giggly about a dude, it’s generally considered benign. But overall, I think with maturity comes respect, and objectification becomes less . Goodness, I don’t sound fun or lighthearted at all… I mostly am 🙃

Eh, I'd be fine with him saying "Oh actress/actor xy is so pretty" But I wouldn't want him to call them hot or have any merch or books of them 😬 I know he wouldn't like that either, so neither of us does it, out of respect! Not my relationship, not my problem but your wife's hobby/obsession wouldn't fly with me 🤣 OR you should be able to have your own crush outfit book!

I wouldn't care. one of my exes had a "crush" on Angelina Jolie. It's not like anything is ever gonna happen, so why would I be jealous. He would even flirt with women wen I was with him. Didn't mind that either. He went home with me and showed me more then enough what I meant to him. :D
