Hi sir. Help question lang maybe you can give me an advise based on your woodworking experience with the Lotus planer. Im planning to buy a thickness planer and i cant decide on what to choose. Considerations on price, being heavy duty, after sales support, the type of blade and reliability ano po pipiliin nyo? Makita 2012NB (P28,000) single double edged blade, tahimik daw na planer Or Lotus 2000watts, soft start, spiral blade upgradable to carbide (currently at P25,000) Thanks sir! God bless

Hi there. Hmm. As much as I want to give a fair and unbias answer, but I don't have a Makita 2012NB. Makita, is Makita. They have been there for quite a long time and they're known of quality tools. No doubt. :) But if we'll just compare the two planers (and not think of they brands who made them), I think I'd go with the LT2000TPX. This is because of the two sided helix blade compared to the double edged blade of the 2012NB. Tahimik din yung LT2000TPX, parang sander or vacuum lang yung ingay nya. :) Stronger motor na plus may extended 1 year warranty pa sya. Pero regardless of what you choose naman sir, I think wala kang talo sa kanilang dalawa. :) Good luck po and keep safe on your woodworking builds :)

Sir, advise ko lang, lotus thickness planer na ang kuhain mo dalhin mas mura at carbide insert na ang blade niya, napakamahal at kailangan mo pang i-align ang blade ng makita 2012nb pag papalitan mo, samantalang sa lotus, no alignment required at dahil 4 sided ang blade mas makakatiid ka.

Thank u for ur suggestions. I did go for Lotus unfortunately they delivered me a Damaged unit and I had a terrible time with them having it replaced. They are most of the time Unresponsive and have been giving me the run around. Clearly disappointed ako because i did not know how bad their customer service is. I paid for the unit in cash and they just don't literally care. Its really frustrating dealing with a company like Lotus.

And until now wala parin silang ginagawa about it. Ipapa actual check pa daw but ive been waiting for days and wala man lang update sa kanila. Para nilang sinasabi at ipinamumukha sayo na Manigas ka dyan basta kami nabayaran na.

Bad experience with Lotus and this machine. Within 6 months, barely within warranty the armature failed and needed replacing. After some time they actually replaced the whole motor which I was happy about and satisfied with Lotus. Then within 4 months the same thing happened with the armature failing and getting cracks in the copper bars of course causing loss in contact. Lotus would not do anything about it. So I was left with a useless machine. Obviously there is some defect with their armature but they won't own up to it. sad... It's not like I was using the machine commercially, it was just used for personal home projects so not heavy use day in and day out....be careful about lotus...
