This video shows the unboxing and testing of a cut price Parkside POF 1200w D3 router which I purchased from Lidl for £30.00 (approx. $38.00 USD). I was actually quite impressed with it and the accessories that came with it. It has a no load rotation speed of 11000 - 30000 and a maximum cutting depth of 55mm. It comes with six different router bits and can take 6mm and 8mm collets. The router also has a vacuum attachment. Not bad and with a 3 year guarantee.
In the video I use it with the parallel guide, in a router table type setup and freehand.
(The router was much better to use with the vacuum attached but I forgot to film this. Apologies but I realised I've spelt vacuum wrong on the uploaded version of the video).
If you enjoy the video please click the thumbs up "like" button and subscribe. It helps with the analytics.
Thanks for watching

I’m a pro joiner , my Festool router broke down on a site one day and I bought one of these Parkside routers to finish the job . 4 years later it is still going strong despite the fact that it has been used ( and abused ) by all my colleagues. For € 39 you couldn’t even buy the cutters ! The only criticism is the play in the the plunge mechanism.

Hello, just brought this myself and wanted to see what others thought of it. Just some free advice, Make sure you are cutting in the right direction, you can tell this by using your right hand! Place your right hand thumb on the timber on the side you want to cut, the direction your fingers are pointing is the direction you want to go with your router. Also when using the router table, it's best to have two hands on the wood keeping your fingers away from the cutting bit, you get a nice cut and you get to keep your fingers.

In the first cut you are cutting in the wrong direction, also if you are using a router bit with a bearing you do not need to use the router fence, the bearing on the cutter stops on the edge of the wood you are cutting and maintains the cut distance. The router fence is used if you are cutting out hinge rebate for instance.

Your first cut was a climbing cut, that is why it was ropie. I did the exact same thing!

For all those asking how did he attach the router to the bench - It's Obvious 👀👀👀 It's camped in the workbench and a guide rail is used for the piece that's being worked on

Looks like a router would be worth having. Thank you. PS. They should come with a mask though?

Purchased this router few weeks ago. Everything is pretty much the same as it is shown in this video from 3 years ago, APART of the metal guide you’re using there that came with it. Yeah, that thing is plastic now. Very flimsy and completely unusable if you need precision. Have a look at a video of a German guy comparing this Parkside with Bosch and with Festool (you can do English subtitles), but he basically shows in detail how flimsy it is and how now 90° the screw in the middle is. A little disappointing that they decided to cut costs and replace a usable part with unusable junk. I’d prefer then to add 1-2 quid to the price of the unit, but keep the metal guide instead of cheap plastic 💩
