Image stabilization is actually great even with pole plants! Wonderful video: it's convinced me to get this ski pole mount.

hey cookie- I am on my annual ski trip right now, and have the new mount you are reviewing, I love it, so much better than the great hack you taught me last year with the motorcycle mount. This new one makes it all so much easier

The jack was just that- a hack! Worked well when we had no proper soloution… but this new mount is a game changer! 🤩🤩

The arm holding the pole with the 360 camera was quite steady. I suppose that's not how you'd normally ski. Was it steady because it was hard to balance or because you were trying to avoid shaking the camera?

I am sure he will reply. Just saying: It is easier to hold the pole steady or (avoid the most annoying small jitters) than it would be without the weight. This is why 'Steadycam' were used in filming before there where gimbals, its physics. If you do not drag the pole to hard on the slope, it can naturally be made to look quite stable after editing.

It’s sort of explained at the 3min mark…if the view is edited forward (especially with a short extension on the camera stick) then the view is ok… otherwise moving your pole like normal will create quite a wild view when you edit. The stabilisation in the camera is amazing… but still helps if you keep it as stead as you can! 👍

What is the model of your selfie stick? Is it a regular one or extended? What do you recommend to get with X4?

I use the classic Insta360 stick, extend to 114cm. Link in the video description.

It comes with every new camera in the box… just a neoprene sleeve. Other option would be to use a glasses sleeve, or even a hard glasses case! 👌
