Love the deep red hair, I hope my daughter loves her.

I actually LOVE this version of Ariel. I know most people are on the fence with her, but I really like the whole "venus in a clamshell" vibe this design is giving off (or is that just me?). Also, we meet Ariel in a clamshell (or are supposed to....) and I wonder if that's part of the reasoning of the clamshell background to the dress? The winged headdress is actually the main selling point for me. It's a gamble, but I like that someone really stepped outside of the box for once. Also according to lore, Triton is Poseidon's son, so it makes sense to take some greek mythology and implement it in (Hermes with the winged shoes). I'm not a fan of the baby hairs, but I think that's only because it's painted on and not just hair glued in place.

I have finally got her and she is the most beautiful collection piece that I have. I usually do not buy dolls, I collect figures, and if I want to buy a doll it should capture me and this one did it instantly when I saw her and now I have her. I am so happy because she looks so pretty. I love her face and I think it is the most similar face to the movie. Love the headpiece because it is so unique and a seashell bag. Her dress is just perfect and so sparkly in the light and the shoes are so cute and fancy. Lastly, her back piece looks like a shell that opens and it kind of gives me this illusion that she is coming from the shell. Just stunning doll. Really fancy and worth money!

Nice review! This Ariel is certainly different. It's not a bad thing to be challenged and pushed beyond your comfort zone. The designers are certainly thinking outside the box on these and it's pretty cool. The strong feelings and opinions are an indicator that we're looking at something special. Love it or Hate it this is a memorable doll and will probably become a fan favorite in the coming years. We will see.

I love it, kinda a warrior princess (Xena) or a Valkyrie look to her. Ariel really can't go wrong with her in any design.

Her dress makes me think of when she’s coming out of the water at the end and her dad gives her legs. Like the bottom of the dress is the ocean and the top is the sand so to me it’s like she’s coming out of the water to the sand and I really like it :-)

Love this new take on the Ariel doll, new take as in colours and clothes style, just ordered her and will keep in box, sadly limited to one per household, so sadly I can't buy one to debox, yes I agree the skirt part is too short, the actual doll is so so beautiful love the sheen so I'm surprised people aren't keen, great review and nice to see a man appreciating dolls

What I really like about this doll is how ballet costume her outfit looks. For me, it feels like an homage to both her scene with Eric from the movie, and the Broadway show since there was an emphasis on dance for the way she and Eric bonded

I actually like her. I've already ordered my which is coming in Wednesday. Everything about her is beautiful. The only thing I would change is the hair. I'm not of a big fan of curls on Disney dolls except Aurora. Wavy hair would have probably would have done it, but all in all, she's beautiful and I can't wait to have her as she's one of my favorite Disney princess. (came out the same year that I was born :) )

I was very hesitant to get her. The head piece was a head scratcher. She arrived yesterday and I must say she's a LOT prettier then I thought she would be. The more I look at her the more it comes together. Her headpiece now reminds me of a fish top fin opened up. I'm glad I went ahead and bought her. Thank you for the debox video as there are things I would not have seen since I do not debox. Great review, as they always are from you.

I love the baby hairs. They’re really cute 🥺 The only thing I really don’t like is that little tutu under the fuller skirt. I hate that you can see the plastic rubber knees. It just bothers me that they’re a different material from the arms and you can tell lol I think it would have been a lot prettier if they shirt underneath was longer maybe a long iridescent fabric. Or even a high low type dress so you could still see the shoes. But the short skirt just isn’t my fave. I am super tempted to buy a second one just so I can have one deboxed Ariel in my collection :P

I really love the Aphrodite reference and her looking like Venus coming out of her clam shell wished they would have thought a little better on the baby hair but I get the wet look. It just looks a lil to hasbro princess instead of a 120 dollar Disney doll and I’m sorry but if I’m paying any 100 on a Disney doll she should always be articulated just saying

I will restyle the hair and remove those painted hairs. I do wonder why both Jasmine and Pocahontas have a gold accessory and she does not. I thought that was going to be a common thread throughout the line.

There are definitely aspects of her that I like, but not enough to buy her. I love her curls!!!

Great review. My favorite thing about this doll is the opalescent/shimmery skin. I think her face is beautiful as well as the shoes. I just can't get over the painted baby hairs (not for cultural reasons, I just think they look odd). Still undecided. 😂 I'm very excited to see Merida and snow white. Do you think they'll release a bell and cinderella ?

Im hoping she lasts on the site until January, I couldn't afford her in December due to medical costs and Christmas. I hope Im able to get her,as Ariel is my most favorite princess

I just brought this doll online today i got it for a bargain £32 i didn't wanna pay £100 for her when she came out but now shes on sale i finally got her im gonna do some tweaking to the outfit cuz i dont like it i hate the head dress like you said it doesn't make sense but the doll is stunning

I love her hair and the fact her lips are red (instead of pink). I also like the top part of her dress....however, I would have preferred if the cut of it was more inspired by the dress she wears at the end of the film. That being the dress she has on after King Triton turns her into human. That would be the only thing I would change. The headress I would probably tone down a little. Look up Fairy Tale Theatre on KZfaq because in their version of The Little Mermaid 🧜‍♀️ because if I remember correctly, the Mermaid wears a similar kind of head piece.

I know what you mean about the skirt, it would be nice if they had i longer at the back like in the end of the film but overall I actually have grown to like this one. I'm in two minds whether to get her xx

I’m not too crazy about her, I just never liked pink/coral on her. I think a lavender or teal would’ve tied it all together a bit better but there are definitely really cool elements in there!

I'm a big fan of Disney limited dolls .. I don't mind that the clothes are different .. But I think that the dress Pocahontas had and the dress that Ariel has just aren't pretty .. They combined in a dress what can't be combined .. My point is that the dresses themselves are not nice or tasteful. That's a shame
