I have never used an auger before, definitely harder than I expected!

Like you, I pulled many times and could not get it to start. Then I saw you made an adjustment at 3:18, and it started right up! So, I tried the same thing, and mine started right up! So, if anyone out there can't get their new machine started, try opening the choke a bit. Thank you, Mountain Man!!!

Hey man thanks for making this I appreciate it. We just bought one of these to build a fence for the dogs and wanted to see how it worked. This will be our first time using an auger as well! 😅

Brother, you need to clear your debris as you go, just like you would with a wood bit. Good video review though!

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind next time. I definitely was trying to use it way too fast here.

this is real experience for most first timers! Like the realness of the video. Most things take getting use to! I have never used an earth auger, but have drilled many ice holes. Ice I imagine is way easier! This video scares me, not sure if I will be happy if its this hard to drill post holes. I have many to do! Did you end up getting the hang of it? I wanted if I should get the auger for my tractor instead, my tractor is only a sub compact though

Haha yeah I got slightly better with it but it's still a beast. I regretted not getting one for my tractor, but since then I've seen a lot of people get them stuck so who knows lol

small auger first-- you would go with 3 inch bit going through wood or steel first either---

What area/region is this? I'm in NorKal and this looks just like my surrounding area. I bought one of those from HF. It was useless and I thought it was going to katch on fire before i quit and took it bakk. I recently got a small traktor with 3rd funktion. I'm going to try building a hydraulik auger with a hydraulik winch motor. Then use these bits. I've debated affixing one of these 2 stroke units to my traktor bukket but i figure it will still fail but with less arm fatigue. Where i live the klay and granite ate like best friends and always together. I think that machine aktivated arthritis in my wrists. Lol Great vid. I'm subbing. 🤘

Hello! I'm from Northern PA. They have decent 3 point augers for your tractor at tractor supply. (depending on its size). I've been looking at them for a bit haha

LMAO after 20 holes most people get better. Less pressure more rpm much more in and out, will eject dirt and rocks😅

Yeah I did eventually figure that out haha. Thanks for watching

You must let the auger drill do the work, not you!
