I like full size knives always. I don't do anything under 3" and it has to be really special for anything less than 3.3".

That's a great looker. I typically prefer a regular sized knife but I don't mind carrying a mini as a spare/secondary.

I’ve loved the shape and design of the freak for a long time now but thought the scales were hideous. This one with the satin blade and carbon fiber is on the short list of must haves. Thanks for the look.

Benchmade does my favorite carbon fiber scales. I haven't seen companies come anywhere close, even for twice the price.

Yeah,my 940-1 is extremely smooth.people think carbon fiber and s90v is a waste of money.Anyone who uses it will stand by them.

The Freek, the Presidio, the Crooked River, or the Adamas would be my choices for my first Benchmade knife. This is a possibility.

Not enticed enough to switch from my EDC Super Freek. Happy with the size, heft and black M4 blade. Although I do have the deep pocket clip, I will copy your idea of the red thumb studs. So far, I'm not upgrading until I get to check out a limited edition CRK Umnumzaan.

Man, that knife is Freek-y! I love the materials chosen and color palette. Looks fantastica all around! I have a Hogue Ritter so it'd be kinda redundant to get one of these, too, but maybe someday. It just looks so sexy! Thanks for showing it off Zach! 👍

I was gifted a mini freek for Christmas. It's a great knife, but I'm not a fan of the scales 🤷 they are hella smooth. My mini prisdeo has to be my favorite bm I own

Bring back the original Freek, bur with just G10, no rubber. I have the large M4, but I lean towards smaller knives. I’d like to get both of the minis. Where do you get the red thumb studs?

This is a nerdy analysis, but… Per the specs I can find the carbon fiber version is heavier than I expected compared to the G10-4.3 vs 4.12 ounces. (Benchmade doesn’t list the weight, but DLT and BladeHQ claim 4.12 ounces) The carbon fiber is just 4.2% lighter than the G10?! I did the same comparison on the 940-2 vs 940-1 (CF/G10) and it’s 7.92% lighter. That might not sound like a lot (nor be in actual weight), but that’s ~89% more and in the opposite direction to what I’d expect (more material should make the discrepancy between the material weights greater, or hold constant). Are the carbon fiber handles/scales noticeably thicker than the G10? Does the stonewash on this S90 Freek look like the darker gray on the 940-1 (it looks lighter to me)? Thanks for the video, Zach (sorry for the math but I was a climber and we tend to nerd out on weight and materials).

I just threw both mine on the scale and the g10 came in at 4.3 and the new Cf came in at 3.9.

Just chipped the edge on my new S90V Freek by cutting down some cardboard boxes, had 17° per side edge angle. Do you have any advice/own experience regarding this?

Sorry to hear that. This is why I went with the M4 over the S90V Freek. S90V and S110V can be chippy. I don't mind keeping the blade oiled for the increase in blade toughness M4 has over the S90V.

I know I'm in the minority, but BM is just overpriced for what it is. I have an Osborne and a Bugout. Not impressed. Maybe for 100 bucks less I would be a fan. Too many other , more reasonable choices today.
