This is a Samsung brand video recorder, model DVD-V6500.

This device is from 2005. Can you imagine? in 2005 they still used VCRs (I use VCRs in 2023 )

I have had a US model Samsung DVD-V8500 since childhood that looks almost exactly like this but with a few extra features (most obvious one being a memory card slot which supports various cards). The DVD side of the unit failed years ago (2014 if i remember correctly and is an extremely common failure among these Samsung combo units), but the VHS bit of it is still going strong nearly 20 years later. Awesome find!

Is this your first Hi-Fi stereo vcr? Because I didn´t noticed one in your videos. Hi-Fi stereo was invented in 1984 by JVC and it makes higher quality sound (like audio playbacked from PC). NOTICE: If you recorded tape in mono (lower quality audio or you can call it linear audio) the tape would be playbacked on Hi-Fi VCR´s in mono too. If you recorded tape in Hi-Fi VCR, in mono vcr you can´t playback the Hi-Fi but mono.

To connect to a TV or monitor via HDMI you need an adapter HDMI cable - 3RCA (for playback this is suitable, for recording - I don’t know).

Only Philips TV is very classic and can be used VHS and DVD. Other TV Brands like Samsung, Sony, LG won't work
