Ran My 115 Etec for 6 years and I did take it in for warranty repair, on the tilt and trim, motor was flawless. Ran mine on XD100 only but I admit that is an expensive way to go. Wanted a little larger boat and sold her last year and wouldnt you know BRP broke up with me. Now I have a black motor, should have gotten the hammer or Zuke, hope she doesnt bite me in the ass.

I have this motor as well. Can anyone tell me if you can run the motor with a garden hose screwed into the flush portal, or is it necessary to put ear muffs on at the intake as is done here in this video?

@@bahamasking2063 I bought a 3 cylinder 90. So far so good. At least as powerful as my 2000 non fitch

Mine turned out new but I hit a submerged log first day out. I dont think anything bent

So, I'm having that motor installed as a replacement for a 20 year old 90 horse and I started wondering if the installer will connect to a computer and was curious what obvious issues I can expect.

We are not Evinrude fans...so expect EVERY issue! Just kidding, the 90 hp E-Tecs were pretty decent! Good Luck!

Do you guy's sell used outboards around the 25 hp ? I am in Rhode Island and if you have a motor for sale I would like to buy it . i will pay for everything it takes to get to RI . Figured I would ask you never know and your channel is dope smoke

Have one of these on a 2012 Glastron gt 160, honestly surprised by how good it is. Im just a weekend pleasure boater. But I just don't trust BRP at all, and am swapping it out for a merc pro xs this year.

It was for a Wisconsin DNR boat. They ordered it and had it shipped to up for install.

Given that its an alloy boat, do you have to isolate the bolts to the hull so you don't get stray voltage leaking through the hull via the engine block? Nice looking boat.

We run a bead of silicone around the bolts before tightening them down.

@@suzukiclarke The power head and brains of the HUGE 9.9 97 omc Evinrude with about no joke 8 hours total of run time before I was ever so nicely screwed over by my only local boat dealership . 16ft lowe center console OMC with a 9.9 . Funny how my throttle has tilt and trim switch and have a gauge for it as well . I hate the motor with it's fast idle lever and waiting 4 hours for it to warm up. Hoping to get a 25 hp anything but a rude . just want to sit down turn the key and listen to the motor turn over . 100% looking for a good 25 hp used is fine with me. seeing that rude is no longer with us I guess we just hope we can replacement parts for these motors

Nothing against that E-Tec or new outboard, but cost of living wise I could rebuild an OMC V4 crossflow or 60 degree looper V4 twice or almost 3 times of what an E-Tec goes for. Recreational boating regarding new boats feels ever closer inching up in price to unobtainable for the US citizen's average net income after expenses. It doesn't help that emissions requirements are starting to reach the point of the limits of what gasoline engines can do on fuel economy and emissions, making them ever so expensive as the years go by.

I just bought one of these same motors for 8k out the door on the transom (I supplied controls) and had it put onna 1970 something aluminum mirro-craft. Seems like cheap and reliable boating

20 years ago I bought a 14ft boat 15 hp four stroke Evinrude and trailer for $3500. Today that same set up is over $7000. A bare bones utility boat. Wages haven’t doubled since then.

Sad state, BRP just cold dumps in my personal use and opinion best motors the family has run! Once i cant rebuild i will just end my days on the big river! Was about to order a new all weld commercial boat and Evinrude! Then the Frogs of Quebec screwed up again!! French be it Canada or France cant manage or even win a war! Boycott BRP products!!!!!!!!!!!!

Evinrude did not go "belly up" and die. They are currently retooling their factory in Wisconsin's for electric powered boats. Similar to Tesla's electric vehicles.
