I’ve found that throwing tape over the lock side screw heads hold them in place so you can flip the knife over without them dropping.

🔥 Glad you were able to snag a 3” NF! It looks great with the ti scale! A quick tech tip (MC gets credit) when swapping scales on a Hinderer remove the pocket clip and put a pice of tape on the frame side to hold the nuts in place. Those extra steps will significantly cut down the swap time and frustration trying to keep the nuts and spacers from falling out. Keep up the great work you are doing bringing these videos to us. 🙏

I commented under one of your xm-18 videos before. Use a penny for the pivot. Also, XM-18 and XM-24 DO NOT use torx. They are hex screws. The 3.5 inch and the XM-24 use 5/64" hex and the 3 inch use a 1/16" hex. If you look at the screw you can tell it is not a torx screw doesn't have that star shape. Some Hinderers that use torx are the eklipse and half track I believe. The reason why you feel like the screws are stripping is that you might have actually stripped them using the wrong bit.

The reason your bits are getting stuck is because Hinderer doesn’t use torque bits they use Allen bits. The torque bits will work tho but they will just be super tight like you showed in your video. I believe the 3” XM 18 is 1/16 hex bit and the 3.5” should be 5/16 hex bit. Great knife btw with the 3” and the 3.5” non flippers are the way to go with the XM 18.

It happens to everyone,but you do have to be carful will Hinderer screws because they are very soft. I’m not sure why being a higher end knife it should have the best hardware he can get and he charges top dollar for all his hardware. Besides that I luv the build quality on Hinder knives and the action on them is great and it’s only gets better over time.

I got a 3 inch no choil in m390 in full battle bronze and love it. Wasn’t sure if I would like the battle blue but after seeing your video gonna have to be on the lookout for one.

Just a quick tip.. when you are taking himderers apart.. take the tab and the clip off so it lays flat, that way you’re not having to hold it’ll the knife in the air and everything falling apart..As everyone said, they aren’t torx…but you should invest in wiha bits..they’re a lot better quality and stronger

You can also put a credit/business card under the pocket clip and that would hold everything in place.
