●I'll be installing Windows 7 on my childhood laptop which is a HP ProBook 4510s. It has an SSD installed. It has Windows Vista on it. I thought this would be a good video to compare the differences in performance with Windows Vista and Windows 7 on an SSD since Windows 7 nativelty supports SSDs and is optimised for them whilst Windows Vista is not.

I still daily Windows 7 on a few of my systems. it's so stable and user-friendly. I've refurbished many laptops for family members and their friends who just wanted a clean system for daily tasks and no creepy 10/11 telemetry and bloatware nonsense.

Just watched the video without any expectations. It was really nice and nostalgia was heavy.... Watching my dude showing his love of Windows 7 and doing a fresh install of it gave me relaxing effect. I was an OS eater back then. Tried almost every major and minor commercial/open source operating system. Curiosity made the cat an IT guy.

A little piece of nostalgia... HP Probook 4510s got me through college. I was keeping it around for many years just for sentimental reasons. Unfortunately I finally had to trash it when moving countries last year. But yes, it was a great laptop with a truly amazing keyboard.

I sadly wouldn't count on Microsoft (or any big tech corporations) for anything cool looking, or reliable anymore, Windows 11 is pretty much a fad if you compare it to other OS's :(

man, I love Vista and 7, both mainly for the Aero stuff, I am extremely fond of 7 and still use it on a older HP laptop today, I have many memories of messing around on my grandma’s pc on windows 7.

Nice! I actually recently acquired a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate Signature Edition (00950/25000), and it's basically just ultimate with fancier packaging. Still an interesting item to have in my inventory. I also have a retail copy of Vista Ultimate (32-bit disc only unfortunately), 7 Ultimate, and 7 Home Premium.

I just got my childhood laptop back. It was a Dell Inspiron 1525 that ran Windows Vista. I got it for my 7th birthday in 2008 and it lasted a long time, but then it broke after like 12 years. I just found online recently the same exact model and color and everything that laptop. I won it at auction for $28. It came with the power cord, battery, RAM, hard drive, and everything. and even came with the original installation discs. Usually when I look online for Dell Inspiron 1525, one or more of those things I listed is missing, and is mostly being sold for parts only. Well, this had everything. It came factory reset and everything. I’m glad I get my 7th birthday laptop back for the memories.

Awesome! It gave me back my childhood memories, when i was 6, I was using Windows 7 and I was kinda good at it, and now, I upgraded it to Windows 10, which was a bad idea. I am 13 Years old now, if I was Windows 7, I could've met myself before ending support in 2020

got a machine with Window XP 32bit and Windows 7 64bit in dual boot, both fully updated. Best configuration for retro gaming.

I have a boxed copy of Windows 7 Professional. I love Windows 7 it was just so easy to use and beautiful. I also like Windows 8 and 8.1. I found a laptop with Windows 7 on eBay and I’ll buy it soon and I’m very excited to buy it.

2nd comment. My literal childhood laptop is a surface pro 4, but surface does not have DVD drives, but if it did and I had the $ to buy a windows 7 license, 100% would have went from 11 to 7

Before Windows 11 was released. I read an article, that Windows 7 was the most used OS on planet earth. I still have an older laptop that is pre-installed with Windows 7.

I'd love to do this on my childhood family desktop, i remember having to take like 30 minute turns, and i would always try to use it last to get the most time, i always loved playing the built in games and browsing the web back then

30:09 I probably would say the opposite because I think the aero feature in Windows 7 was a lot cooler since Windows 11's is actually basic along with it's UI unlike Windows 7. Edit: How does aero snap in Windows 11 have more customizability?

When you drag a window to the top of a screen, windows 11 displays a bar giving you presets to snap a window in many different ways

In January of 2010 I went back to college to finish my degree in Visual Communications, so I bought a laptop with Windows 7 installed. I remember both the Dell laptop and Windows 7 being extremely glitchy to the point where it was unusable. I couldn't even watch a 10 minute KZfaq video on it without the CPU overheating and crashing. Windows 7 wasn't a terrible OS, but it was nowhere near as good as XP in my opinion. I know a lot of people liked it, but I had so many issues with it being glitchy.

well there’s a small chance, since dell factory supplies their windows 7 version, bugs could come from there. and yeah i also experienced plenty of BSODs, freezings, and weird bugs every once in a while, all on different hardware

I’ve used windows 7 on my MAIN COMPUTER and still do and normally, the national theme is for Canada, but I’ve installed it on different VPNs and I’ve seen the US theme but when I installed it in German it didn’t have a national theme.

I still use windows 7 today I remember the day this came out. I was on Vista at the time didn't have issues with Vista but due to 7 being way more stable I bought it day 1 and upgraded. I still use it on a dell optiplex 7040 micro as a daily with the newest flavor of chromium which is superium which is based off chrome and is in active development. I refuse to let windows 7 die until nothing works on it. I hated to do it with xp but xp has long since outlived its purpose in 2024. Windows 7 will live on for quite a while more yet

Windows 7 was my childhood memories. I used it for fun stuff like editing, playing games, and draw stuff on it. Windows Media Center was my favorite app because it show us our pictures I take and draw. Can you tell me how to get that Windows 7 Ultimate Pack, because I have a Dell Optiplex 780 computer from Christmas, but it was from 2011 and the Windows 7 Professional version cannot do updates. Can you help me please?

Did you Install Windows 7 RTM or SP1? Because I've never seen Windows 7 RTM to include Internet Explorer 11. It originally supposed to come with Internet Explorer 8.

Also, Windows 7 was my most favorite OS of all time. I still want to use Windows 7 to this day. But for security and compatibility reasons I use Windows 11 (Yikes! I'm using it on unsupported hardware. Yet it's fully fine).

Moral of the story: always install OSes that you wanted on your childhood computer for me, i wasent even born to even see windows 7, i had Windows 10 after its release, god is it beautiful after 15 WHOLE Years.

I think you're still a child mate. I used a similar laptop till like two three years ago. my childhood laptop was a fujitsu with 133Mhz cpu 64MB RAM 2GB hard drive, I thought you'd install windows 7 on something like that.

I use windows 7 in my old MSI laptop when i was a 5, and as of my age 10 or 11 i used that laptop when I'm doing the online class or something since 2021 to 2022. Now i am 14 and I don't think my old laptop works for today.

I tried setting up 7 on my old HP EliteDesk, and it worked, but I can't continue because I don't have drivers for USB 3.0 devices. Any ideas for mouses?

I am selling my childhood PC with Windows 7. Although, it has been upgraded to Win 11 already, before I bid goodbye, I wanted a nostalgic moment. I was definitely not expecting a wave of nostalgia with Win 7. It was a massive jump from XP to 7. I had skipped Vista, because of lack of funds at that time, when I was a student. I still dont understand, why it is soooo nostalgic lol

i think a better reason for it being supported longer is because it was one of the best versions of windows but it was supported until 2023 but you had to pay
