Those last big brown pods look sort of like bent chocolate hearts. You could cut off one of the wooden red roses and put it in there and save them for Valentine's Day.

I bought a twisty willow tree on line a few years ago. It grows like crazy. Their branches are great to add to arrangements. The whole "foraging from your yard" idea prompted this thought.

Walnuts.....in shells....drill a hole in them and tie on a bow made of twine or jute or burlap twine (forgot what it's really called ). With the bigger pieces you might make a large floral arrangement....maybe sprayed with Mod Podge thinned with water to preserve the wood and set it atop a tall stand as a large display of what one could make or put it as an advertisement piece atop your store ( before the snow comes again ) or as a big display piece as you enter Grandpa's building....so of course you would need to cover it with plastic sheeting until the big day of Grandpa's new building reveal by the big tree 😊

Magnolia leaves are awesome for arrangements and wreaths. I have a 25 year old Brackens Brown Beauty I only ever trim for arrangements. In my zone 6 S.W. Ohio some bad winters it goes totally brown then drops all it's leaves and they all regrown in spring. On mild winter years it's kept all it's leaves and then had big beautiful blooms. It would definitely bloom better in a higher zone but I'm totally happy with it. Porch pots, hanging baskets and window boxes get the magnolia, juniper branches n blue and green, arborvitae in green and gold, some fake berry pics and bows are all done up thanks to yard trimmings and the dollar tree lol

I have a huge Magnolia tree in my front yard in Texas. From April through June, I rake up at least 2 to 3 leaf bags FULL of Magnolia leaves that fall to the ground here. They are so big and thick that they don't compost and would kill my lawn if I didn't clean them up. By the time leaf dropping season ends, the cones start to drop. The squirrels love to eat the red seeds on them. Had no clue there was a market for this stuff.

When I lived in Naples, Florida (2001 - 2009) I made a Wreath out of Palm Fronds (split in half), that long soft rope like Pine, Pine Cones, twiggy pieces and Berries. All things I collected from outside. Everyone wanted one. I made a few more then I had to stop because I had a lot of other XMas things to do! But they were large and beautiful. I think some craft store Birds and or Nests would really be lovely. Or- (if you want to keep it Earthy) Buy colors of potpourri and hot glue some flower like designs. If anything goes- then craft store theme wreaths- Bees and Honey (would be cute w.dried Oranges), Little Birds and Bird Houses, Picks and Ornaments...Artist...I could go on forever...

Oh, Nicole, those supplies are wonderful. I used much of those things when I was selling flowers years ago. Do you have a wholesale florist near you? You will be blown away with all the dried options. Perhaps a line of grapevine wreaths all year…if you have time. Perhaps Aunt Jan….she’s very artistic. I was going to suggest mushrooms…the kind that grow on the tree trunks. There’s so much out in the woods that you can use. Perhaps your children would enjoy foraging. Nature gives us so much. Nuts work out well also and can be spray painted. I like them natural, but a gold or silver walnut really pops. Those flowers are gorgeous. Can’t wait to see what you do with them. Even that troublesome Chinese bittersweet makes a good wreath….just dispose of the berries in a plastic bag or something that won’t allow them to get back to the ground and sprout. That’s free all along the roadsides. The vines are good for smaller wreaths….like a kitchen wreath with cinnamon stick and spices. Thats something I used to buy wholesale too…big long cinnamon stick. I used to cut them and make wishing wells and make silk flower arrangements in them. I would glue them around oatmeal containers that I cut and spray painted or any larger container that would hold the glue gun glue. You’re going down a new path. It will be a very creative and fun journey….I just don’t know how you will have time to take on more. You need more help. We’re your creative juices flowing all night after that unboxing? Mine would have been. Love and hugs to you all. 😊💕🦋🕊

And most of these live versions you are getting you can use activa silica get in big plastic totes and dry all of these things I make whole wreaths and dry the made wreath in a huge tote takes about 7-15 days for most things n they look just like they are alive. But they do need to be spray sealed because they become fragile
