Among other things, I'm blown away by how *vibrant* the game's presentation is. The board, cards, and manuals look colorful without being garish, and the graphic design looks clear too. I can easily picture how this game might have looked from another publisher or from GMT of days past. I'm not going to be able to play this for a bit, but man am I looking forward to it.

Check out the playthrough series. It's highly procedural, and the procedures themselves are *mostly* crystal-clear and well explained.

The box fart & 7.9 million books made it...yes it's a pretty epic size game, production is top notch, player aids are remarkable...the bound flip book makes play accessible. A great video & commentary as always. Big Thank you!

ok.. I was comparing the excitement level in your voice as opposed to the unboxing of the Third Winter... I guess you are safe, both at the same level :). P.S. I didn't see the file of classified documents that they promised on the back cover.. 👍👍

GMT couldn't get any boxes of classified documents. They all are sitting in basements of former presidents.

I know the game is brand new, but I am already interested to see where they will take it. Will they have expansions where you can be president in the 40s, 50s, etc. or will they be like volumes since the rules and decision spaces will vary significantly based on the "news of the day"? I am very excited to play this one as well as to see where things go from here.

I've been waiting for this one since I P500'd it years ago. Looks beautiful and I hope that replayability is high. Too bad they didn't give us one of those coffee mugs. 🙃

Glad to see this unboxed-- it justifies my decision to bail on it when I had it on P500. It's gorgeous, but after seeing their demo videos, it looked to me like a dice fest, which is why I gave up on games like B17 Queen of the Skies. I can't help thinking this would have been a brilliant computer game had they not tried cramming it in a box. Still, masochist that I am, I would doggedly watch any playthroughs you care to make...

I'm unclear on how to define "dice fest", but using B-17 as the yardstick and inferring that to mean a game which is driven by randomness with little player decision-making, this does not appear (from what I can tell so far) to fall into that category. You might well be right that this would make a splendid computer game, though.

I backed out of the P500 just before billing and I still can't decide if I've made the right call. This looks superb but I could see it sitting on the shelf for years and years, if it ever got played.

P500 price was $52. Look for the secondary market to be flooded with NIS copies from profiteers. There is already a copy on BGG listed at $125.

Ok, let's get this out of the way first: Is the potential for election fraud a possible crisis or event that you can encounter in this game? If not, then it's a no-buy from me.

I can guarantee you that if I got elected president it can only be through election fraud. And in this game, I get elected president!
