@@lehlohonolomako7228 Hi Lehlohonolo, depending on what you want to buy from alibaba, there are different supplies for different products. Each supplier uses a different shipping company and the most common would be dhl and aramex and these tend to cost a lot when shipping to South Africa. Dhl and aramex ship by air, while there are other cheaper alternatives, most suppliers go with the two shipping companies. AliExpress has free shipping on some products but this can take months to get to South Africa, because most free shipping products are shipped by sea. So, in your case you’d want to use whichever shipping method that you’ll negotiate with your supplier, your can have your order shipped to Ladybrand at the shipping company’s nearest branch (if it’s dhl or aramex). If you decide to go for free shipping, the items would be delivered to your nearest Post Office which would be in Ladybrand. I hope that helps 👍🏾

I'd say DHL or FedEx. The lady can be a bit unreliable, as she deals with a lot of clients and there is no security/insurance on you items. Alibaba will pay back your money if your items get lost in transit if you use their recommended shipping method. If you use the lady and your stuff gets lost/ gets delivered to the wrong address, you lose your money. So i do not recommend her and I won't be using her going forward.

I think as south africans we were supposed to work together as a group and order products through Alibaba and get a shipping agent who will send our products and contribute shipping cost that is the way cheapest to do it but not everyone is business minded.

I paid them using my credit card, I’ve never used moneygram. Alibaba will send you the payment link and you pay them and not the supplier, in that way they can pay you back if the supplier doesn’t deliver.

When I bought from alibaba it took 3 days for the seller to prepare my package I only got the tracking number from Buffalo on the 30th of August and today my package is in transit to me, apparently they've been delays because in South Africa flights are limited. The import taxes you pay will depend on what you're buying and the time you wait will also depending on the shipping method you choose. But I'd say it took 2 - 3 weeks for my order to arrive.
