I'd say he's an SML clone, much like how "Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing" is "Mario Kart", and I mean that comparison in the best way possible. Yes Richie is a tad similar in style to SML, but still offers his own spin. For one thing, SMR Junior is a troublemaker but with a good heart. Whereas SML Junior is a lying manipulative, verbally and physically abusive brat 24/7. SMR Bowser is a cheap but strict father but he at the very least still cares about his own kids no matter how many times they get on his nerves. While SML Bowser is a lazy belt happy tyranical freeloader who is abusive to his own son, and even more so to his own chef with no remorse. But the one thing that makes SMR superior to SML in my personal opinion, not every video is centered around the same character. While a good chunk of videos are centered around the Koopalings, Richie does a good job at mixing it up by making videos with Wario, Waluigi, the babies, the Mario Brothers, and a few others. Also unlike SML's fanbase which mainly consists of a bunch of whiny, self entitled Karen born crybabies below the age of 10, SMR's fanbase are a lot more civilized and don't harass him for making a video that doesn't star their favorite character. You get the picture.
