Congratulations on your new snowblower. She looks nice and I'm sure she will serve you well for many many years! . ☕ Quick tip.. • Change the oil as soon as you can. To make sure you flush out most of the "little metal shavings"... Run your blower³ 5-10 minutes before draining the oil. #OldLenn ☕

Thanks for the tip! Will make sure to do that.

You should first do an engine break in first before running it wide open and diving into the snow. The oil in there is normally break-in oil and should only be used for a short run and then changed to the regular motor oil. (read the manual) Also, you should have adjusted the skids on a level (concrete) surface to get the machine set right (and level)

This snowblower is an MTD product. Craftsman snow blowers I have been made by several manufacturers over the years but currently it's MTD. MTD snowblowers have always had the augur and Drive controls swapped compared other manufacturers. What Cub Cadet or Troy-Bilt will be the same since they're both MTD products but if you have I have to borrow a Toro or find all the Craftsman made by somebody else I will probably throw you off after getting used to this one. Usually there are stickers on both handles or near to tell you what each one does.

Always best to clean driveway before it freezes and before anyone drives on it, makes it a lot easier to clean. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks for your comment. I was in the middle of plowing when the plow stopped working. Mice got the wire harness to the controller and the part is backordered. Gave me a reason to get the snowblower! Much better than shoveling.

As an advice, try to always use 91 gas in small engines instead of 87. It will pay off on long term. This is mainly because the 87 has the 10% ethanol while the 91 is ethanol free.
@jawadturk6 ай бұрын
I agree with you. I was using 87 and I had to clean my carburetor after only one year of ownership. I Will definitely be using ethanol free gas from now on.

Very true 87 will jelly up and clog the carb. 91 for me.

Also, use fuel ⛽️ stabalizer, especially in storage or off-season!

NO NO NO!!!....You have to drain/run out the gas, carb & blow out the fuel lines if you want to do it right & have no issues the next season.

Here's some good advice I have the same one I bought last year used it twice this year went to start it it wouldn't start just kept cranking over had to tear apart the carburetor in clean it these machines are Infamous for that there's a million videos on KZfaq about these

I got one as a hand me down, had to replace the carb, but now I always run it until the gas runs out at the end of the season, fresh gas next season, works well.

How did you clean the carb? I'm having the exact same problem. Bought it last year and only used it once. Didn't need it yet this year until yesterday. I went to start it and it won't turn over. I tried both the pull cord and the electric start. I'm thinking it might be that I left gas in it from last year. I tried putting in dry gas, didn't help.

@@greggcooper7596 I just watched the video on KZfaq pretty much figured it out it is kind of a pain in the ass

How's it working for you a year later? Like you, I bought mine last year at lowe's. The exact same model. Went to start it this year and it won't turn over.

Mine is still working like new. Cranked the first pull at the beginning of the season after being stored. I have used it many times so far this winter.

How's this machine been for you, do you like it? I have the exact same one I purchased last year, fortunately we got lucky last winter and had no snow. I started it for the first time yesterday and it started first pull. I noticed there's no throttle speed to rev the engine higher or lower. Is this true or am i missing something? Thanks for informative video.

As I've just used this exact model a few days ago, I may say it's kind of ok. On the bad side of things are the throwing distance(fairly modest for its price point) as well as the fuel consumption (I've had other snowblowers also with a 208cc engine that were taking significantly less gas than this one for the same job).

@@cristianboldisor1175 Good to know. Thank you

It has been perfect for my use. Used it again the past two days. No throttle speed to adjust. Hope it works out well for you.

@@Dave_does_stuff I finally got to use mine this week. I'm very impressed with it. How is reverse on your machine? My reverse 1 is extremely slow and reverse 2 is not as slow but still slow. Have you noticed this on yours?
@GrAPeBombZ6 ай бұрын
Was there oil already in the machine? Or did you need to add it?
@Dave_does_stuff6 ай бұрын
There was oil already in it when I purchased it. It also came with extra oil in the box.

Use ethanol free gas save yourself a lot of trouble
@kieranrichardson79296 ай бұрын
If only they sold that… I live in Canada. all gas is required to have ethanol which sucks for small engines
