Unboxing Ollivanders And Alivan's Wands 1080p

So, a bit over a month ago as of the recording and uploading of this video I went to Universal Orlando for a day with family, and naturally we went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It was quite busy there, but before we left I decided to pick up a particular wand from Ollivanders Wand Shop. It's the wand of my favourite character, even if the wand itself isn't particularly to my taste in terms of design.
I also ordered a custom wand from Alivan's, a company that handcrafts custom wands, including Pottermore wands.

The wand that was chosen for me by Pottermore was: Alder wood, Unicorn Hair, 14.5", Unyielding.

Bit of an unusual mix, based on what I read on the site about wand lore. Alder wood is a bit more difficult to work with, but useful for wordless magic and thus has a reputation with being used by advanced witches and wizards. However the core of Unicorn Hair somewhat lacks in power, but is very reliable. It's a longer wand than average, though not quite at the point of being unusually so.
According to a little research, alder is a somewhat soft hardwood and moderately light. That would explain the wand's light weight, which was noticeably less than the resin based Ollivander wand.
Anyway, now I have more fandom related stuff to display I guess XD

Well, I think Luna's wand could be made out of cold cast. Cold cast wands by Noble Collection usually have a metal core.

Alder wood according to the wood database is a hard wood but is light weight and isn't very durable.

It would be lighter as the noble collection wants are made of resin with a metal rod in the center.

On the website for Alivan’s there wasn’t a price listed for anything, I don’t wanna sound nosey but how much did it cost??

I think they have to do it on a case-by-case basis, since the wands require different materials and processing. Mine came out to about $75 US, plus the shipping. I had to e-mail them directly, linking to my Pottermore wand to get the amount. Came with a box, velvet bag, and certificate. Mine was probably on the more expensive end for a custom Harry Potter wand. A simpler, shorter wand made out of a more common wood like oak would likely be a bit cheaper, though I can't say for sure. Took a bit of hunting through my e-mail to find this info TBH. This is also old information, since I ordered it over 3.5 years ago. No idea if it has changed since.

Har har. Ollivanders in Universal Orlando had huge stacks of a bunch of wands for a lot of characters. I don't think they had many (if any) wands that weren't character specific. Anyway, the Alder wand was the one that 'chose me' on Pottermore XD

I'm just gonna say there are too many muggles and they don't understand magic. That's why Witches and Wizards like us stay apart. I love collecting the wands!
