I love the review and they plates are definitely beautiful. I just bought my deep dishes last year and absolutely love the. The large lips are great handles and prevent dropping better than any plates I’ve ever owned. I took it to the next step and used gold leaf pens to color the rogue lettering and weight numbers. They are stunning.

I’ve got 570 pounds of the Rogue Training Plates (all black with the colored lettering) and they’re awesome. When these came out I bought the 230 pound set and it came out to $2.63/lb with included shipping. I ordered them on a Tuesday night and they delivered the next Monday to Arizona, crazy fast. They’re absolutely gorgeous as you said. I’ll likely get rid of the bumpers and get more of these. I weighed them all and one of the 25s was like 3 ounces under stated weight but that’s not a big deal. Love that they’re made in America and that Rogue is supporting local foundries. I think other than Rogue you can get USA made iron from Strength Co, EliteFTS, and Kabuki Strength. Otherwise it’s all overseas. Great video, you’ve got another subscriber.

great review. I usually buy on Brandon's recommendations; however, up here in the Pacific Northwest (Vancouver Canada), Strength Co's shipping fees are brutal. I was leaning towards these but needed to know how much of a lip there is on the plates. Your review settled it for me, thanks!

@NoFate2473 жыл бұрын
I def. think that's a good thing. These really stand out against the few metal plates I've used and come across. The price point is reasonable when bought in bulk too, considering Rogue and USA made.

I bought these and for most part love them but damn are they hard to pick up with just one hand NO GRIP for your fingers! If these had the holes the Weight It Out ones do would be PERFECT plates!
@NoFate24711 ай бұрын
I love them for how thin they are but I know a guy who sold them cause of how difficult it it was too lift them
@chrisdonnell257511 ай бұрын
I can certainly see that! There's no perfect plate out there somebody should create one. Handles from Weight it Out, looks from Rogue USA or Strength Co, thinness of Rogue or Weight it Out but unlike Weight it Out 25s, 10s and smaller need a smaller diameter for people who also want to use them for dumbbells! Weight it out's smaller diameters are far too big. And they should fit tight on bar like Rogue's and Strength Co's the slop I've seen in Weight it Outs is horrible and amateur hour. @@NoFate247

Fitness Gear... Cause I'm a cheapass LOL. The thing is... They sell them in-store separately, so just bring a scale and weigh them till you get a full set that are all within 2%.

As cousin Eddie says “She’s a beaut’ Clark”…. I wouldn’t mind picking up a pair of these (over the deep dish) one day. I have the standard “Olympic Iron Plates” Rogue sells on their website (and one pair of 25’s from Titan). A total of 550lbs for now. The ones I have were cheaper to get into, especially since not many places even had any in stock at the time. One day I may have to pick up a couple of these. We’ll see though!

Great video. The hundo pricing means the order, which is large, will come to you on a palette via a palette jack from a freight truck. It won't be the typical UPS guy lugging a thousand pounds one box at a time from a delivery van to your door.
@NoFate2473 жыл бұрын
Ahhh you must have read the fine print. Thanks for the classification. Makes sense to buy in bulk and save money on shipping

It also prevents the boxes from getting beat up by UPS. This is my personal experience.

Checking in. I think you may be the first person on KZfaq to review these! To be honest, outside of the Six Shooters, I was never a fan of Rogue’s iron plates, but when I saw the email for these, I was very impressed and tempted to get some. I see that you’ve gotten a lot of new plates in the last year. I know you were lent these but what’s your rationale for having more weight than you can lift? I’m not asking out of criticism because I have more plates that I can lift as well haha.
@NoFate2473 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think it's good to have more than you can lift for convenience but you wouldn't go crazy and just get plates for the sake of getting plates. I imagine a lot of people will be upgrading to these and selling the older plates they maybe do think are as nice.
@jamestonbellajo3 жыл бұрын
@@NoFate247 I have the same mindset. I’m too lazy and too much of a hoarder to sell my older plates too. Also, I watched your video on the Amazon plate tree you bought a few months ago. If you’re in the market for another one for your new plates or a good replacement, I just bought my friend one from CFF Strength for $240 with free shipping and no tax. It’s every bit as good as my Rogue plate tree for a lot less and much better than the Titan plate tree and I’d assume an Amazon tree too.

@@NoFate247 probably just a pair this quarter and a pair next quarter. Then some 25s, 10s etc. the idea is to pay next to nothing for this set. Do you prefer these or the Weight It Out plates? Both ~0.75" (0.75" for Weight It Out, 0.89" for Rogue) for 45's. The Rogue are beautiful with the machining/style but the Weight It Out have grips and are steel instead of cast iron. Pros and Cons to each. Which of the two are tighter on the bar sleeves?
@NoFate2473 жыл бұрын
Just in a short reply they are both the same on the bar sleeve. Rogue look nicer cause that's more in line with what you expect a plate to be but that's perception. Weight it out are thinner and less expensive I believe.
