Great video, I already have the all AMD G15 advantage edition fully upgraded. I just ordered this exact model plus 32g of ram and an extra 2tb ssd... and a rog ally ( retirement gift to myself )... Starfield is gonna look great on this baby!

Just upgrade from the g15 advantage too, and though I’m extremely happy with the g18 performance, I really liked how amd did their software and drivers and kind miss it. Wish I could have nvidia hardware with amd software. Geforce and nvidia control panel just flat out sucks compared to Radeon software imo.

Yeah, I apologize about that! I'm still new to the game, and trying to make improvements with the content I make! The display quality is honestly great, I just couldn't figure out how to capture it in the video. It's a 240hz monitor, with dolby vision, and has a max brightness of 500 nits. I since then went through and tuned the settings and it looks crisp and I absolutely love this thing! But anyhow, thank you SO much for subscribing! That was my only real critique of your video,..that you jumped right in without first taking the time to get your settings right. I know this video is 9 months old and I imagine you've already made improvents to your process. But it's worth reiterating the fact that people who watch this type of content usually want to see the laptop performing at its absolute best. That's not going to happen unless you first take the time to maximize settings.

I'm stuck between lenovo legion pro 7i and rog strix g18 4080 I like the g18 more bcoz the 18" display its game changer for me but I'm afraid of coil whine and pixel bleeding please let me know which one you suggest me from your experience with g18

I absolutely love the G18, but haven't tested the legion pro so take that with a grain of salt. I use the laptop daily and at times I feel like it's overkill for what I need. It's a beast, especially if you upgrade the ram and storage.

Well I have a legion 5i w/ i9 13900hx and 4070. But tomorrow I will receive my Strix g18 i9 13980hx w/ 4080. The Legion is absolutely amazing and has very good thermals. The build quality is sturdy and substantial, more so than many other brands. One laptop series I will warn you about though is the Acer Predator series. I had one and had to take it back due to horrible thermals and no, it was not a lemon. Other than thermals it was great but thermals are what will make or break a laptop. To me, thermals are among the most important aspects of a laptop.

I saw some review about this laptop (Rog Strix 18) that when the screen is dark the display have bright corners flashing light. Is that apply to all Strix 18 or should I return it?

I have the Strix G18, and I can tell you I haven't experienced that - so that sounds unusual. The only thing weird that I've experienced, is when it swaps the "OS Mode" when unplugging the power supply - sometimes it seems a little "clunky" but nbd. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea, to have someone at least look at it while it's under warranty. Best of luck!

Hi according to the official Asus website they claim the Strix G18 can go only upto 32GB of DDR5 memory. But you told that it can 64GB?

I'd say it probably depends. The only thing I've personally experienced is when gaming with "ultra" graphics settings, the fans can get rather loud.

I personally haven't experienced anything. The only nuisance I've noticed is when going from having the power source plugged into the laptop while running turbo, then unplugging sometimes it's a little glitchy. But they just had a recent patch for it and it seems to be MUCH better

I recently bought it from BB for $2099.I absolutely loved it but returned twice due to visible screen bleed and glitchy(low) noise while browsing even using battery power .As of now sticking with this laptop(Return period until Jan 13) hopefully glitch noise wil be sorted out within few days

How has yours held up? I had one of these for 4 days and the SSD died on me. When i first booted it up, it seemed to struggle to boot, so maybe i had a defective unit. I got a replacement coming from Best Buy, I really like the laptop's design and it seems to run cool but i just hope I don't end up with another lemon.

Not my kind of review layout, very fluffy and could use a lot more cuts.. but you reviewed the length of the charger cable which NOBODY ELSE has done, and that's something pretty significant in my opinion as a laptop user. Laptops like the Titan have such a short cable length you need to have the brick on the table with you at times.

Thanks for the input! I want to venture out of my comfort zone, and thought this would be a good idea to see how it worked out for me! And I fully agree! Like, one of my main questions when watching reviews of things I'm looking to buy, like this, is how long is the power cable? But, I'll keep developing myself to make the best content I can. Nope, the only thing you'll get is that it does sound like a jet engine taking off from the fans when running multiple programs or Gpu intensive loads. Other than that, I have no complaints about it.

First Quarter through 2023 and we still have 1080P videos.. KZfaq should be charging a fee to even post videos less than 4k. Regardless i liked the video and bought the laptop based on what you said. :)

It's like what Ultron said about Vibranium! The most versatile metal in the world and what do they do with it? They made a frisbee! You remind me of people who are so far behind with the times and yet are given technologies that you barely comprehend and use it on a small scale, but never see to look beneath the flesh and into the very core of it's existence! That laptop is so much more powerful than your mind can even fathom and you barely recognise it's TRUE potential! What a waste! Use it the way it's supposed to...it's an extension of you after all!

This laptop with RTX 4080 is still not available on canadian online stores... I am looking everyday for the G16 with the 4080... The only other one that I am interested to buy is the Legion Pro 7i. This one is available but I don't know if I am better wait for the G16. Sorry for the english, I am french canadian.

It's all good! I got extremely lucky with it. I set up notifications, emails, and text so I'd know when the stock came back in. Didn't get any notification, randomly checked at 2pm est (when Best Buy typically does their drops here), and I saw it before the notification! Best of luck to you snagging one!

not sure if you will read this in time, i got the asus g18 from best buy and the msi vector gp68hx from newegg, the latter has a 12900hx instead of the 13980hx on the asus, still putting them side by side and running a bunch of games for comparison the performance was better on all games i tested on the msi that costs 100 less...drivers bios etc updated on both....

@danieljones2016 The MSI has a 1080p screen and isn't as nice all around. It is $250 less right now though. I'd say the 18 inch screen that is much better and the better keys/pad/chassis is worth a very minute performance increase. You also didn't say you tuned either machine. Inevitably they would work basically as well as one and other when finely tuned. So basically it is whether or not you want a bigger/better machine with a better screen or want to save $250.

Run the following command in cmd to verify. "wmic memphysical get maxcapacity" this was a concern I had, but I was able to verify for myself.

@@benebenplayin Well I finally received the laptop. After all the updates I finally had a chance to run my first Cinebench r23 multicore run and and it scored 31,838. The only thing I did was select turbo in the armory crate and didn't change anything else. So far everything seems positive, but I barely had time to test it out. The fans do get quite loud when under stress, but it really can't be avoided in a powerful laptop. The screen is nice with no pixel issues and everything else appears in working order. I hope to test a few games this week.

@AMBITIOUS I haven't noticed any at all. The colors are vibrant and beautiful on this nebula display. I wish i could've captured how it looks in person. Additionally, it's honestly impressive how sturdy the display is for being an 18".

I just found out 1 major drawback. We can't game in HDR. :( It offers Dolby Vision HDR for watching movies.

I had to return mine it kept Crashing and freezing When i would Stop running a game also I noticed that on this laptop you're more susceptible to Lagging when playing online games
