This is a first class review. Perfectly explained everything, and your advice about the pedal very useful. I am ordering tonight this keyboard together with the SP-2 sustain pedal which seems to be compatible with this keyboard. Again, excellent review. Thanks for sharing and kind regards from Holland

Hi Tim! Useful video! You've maybe already checked but some of those sustain pedals have a small switch underneath to reverse the polarity so they work properly with different keyboard brands. May be worth a look if you haven't already :)

Great video! very dynamic, agile and simple. besides that the CTX700 really seems to be a great choice. I admit that I'm in doubt between it and the cts300, but I believe that this second one is a little lower than the ctx, and considering its price is absurdly expensive here in my country, sometimes more expensive than the ctx itself, I'll keep it. thanks for the video and review!! xx from Brazil!

Great review by the way! So after owning that for awhile what do you think of it? Heard mostly good things other than you can't adjust the relative volumes of voices when layered or split. Been agonizing between this one and the Yamaha PSR-E373 as a second portable option possibly for busking etc

In terms of other 61-key touch sensitive non-weighted pianos, you have the Yamaha NP-12 and Roland GO: Piano, both good choices though I think the Roland is the better option but is a bit more expensive than both the Yamaha and the Casio. If you want something that's more of a synthesiser or workstation, the Roland GO: Keys is worth looking at.

Hi Tim, I bought the CT-X800 exactly for the same reasons you bought the CT-X700, plus the 800 has got an USB to Device socket and a pitch-bend wheel. I am not completely satisfied because after one month of playing the keyboard some C keys became noisy and clicky (I suppose it is because the keys are moulded in octaves). Since the keyboard is still under warranty, I sent it back for repair but after one week of receiving it back from the repair shop, I still got the same problem so I am fairly disappointed. Apart from this keys problem, this keyboard is really fantastic but this is disappointing that the build quality is sub-par as compared with the sounds and features.

@HubertEtAlice
@HubertEtAlice 3 жыл бұрын
Daniel Hi it depends on your needs really. My advice is go in a music shop and try both. Or else, order one of them on Internet and if you don't like it send it back for a refund. I'd probably go for the Yamaha because it is newer but the Casio has its strong points, too. Mind you, for the same price as the PSRE373, you could probably get the CT-X3000, which is really a nice keyboard.

Hello, thank you for the suggestions for other keyboards. I did a quick check online and found the PSRE373 is the same price of the CT-X700 ($200), but it does not come with the power adapter as Tim mentioned in the video. I also looked up the CT-X3000, and it is about $350 (online and store pricing), and comes with the adapter. Have you played the X3000 to see if there is a difference in the "C" keys being noisy / clicky?

Hi Tim, thank you for this review. I was looking at this model and a Yamaha model I saw at Guitar Center yesterday. From your review, it seemed that this was a pretty good choice for the price point. However, someone commented below that they have the same model and after a month, the "C" keys became noisy and sticky. She returned it to be repaired, and had the same issue a second time. Yours was the second review I've seen for this model, the first one from 2018, and yours from 2019. Did you continue to use this Casio keyboard after your review? If you did use it, was there any problem with the keys / notes at all? Thanks again, going to look through more of your videos!
@topmusicco
@topmusicco 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marc - yes, I still have it and don't have an issue with that key although it's also a backup keyboard used for travel and special events rather than everyday. I'd be very surprised if a bug like that was allowed to pass and not get fixed TBH.
@marcd1981
@marcd1981 2 жыл бұрын
@@topmusicco Thank you, that's good to know. I'm sure there is a certain percentage of keyboards, like with many other things, that will have defects from the manufacturer, but as long as they are a good buy overall, that's what I wanted to know.
