for right now i have a sundown x10v2 and it does impress me a lot and others they always ask if i have a 12 cause how good the lows are and how loud it gets in my focus. but im upgrading this month to a solo x12 and i cant wait im in love with the looks and how down it gets but for sure in the future when the money is right i want my whole build to be all solo x since its a bit cheaper but if i have more than i can spend on subs it dd all the way🔥

Im pretty sure EM Audio has a bigger 8 then that..could be wrong but im pretty positive

No sir. EM Audio uses open source, meaning generic, baskets with standard 7.37 “ cutouts. Not even the size of the DC Audio M4 or DB Drive G7 8’s with. 7.5” cutouts.

My bad I worded that incorrectly, I ment i think they have a more powerful 8. I would buy DD or Sundown before EM forsure but I was impressed with the 8 I seen EM just had posted on facebook

Nope. A 3" voice coil is too large for 8" subs. At least with current spider technology, you either significantly limit the excursion or significantly limit the lifespan of the woofer. It's too large of a compromise for not enough of a benefit

@blakebrockhaus347 I'm going for SPL and not SQL. I guess having holes on the 2.5 vc helps with heat. But 3 inch vc on a triple stack 7.5 inch spider... especially supercharged.

@@LILRESHW even with the larger spider, a 3" voice coil is too large. You can build a spider that can handle the travel, but you'll need very frequent recones. a 3" voice coil would only work in applications where excursion isn't necessary. So horns and heavily loaded 6th order band passes.

Just recieved my 2 2508gs. And to be honest for the price I expected alot better build quality for being "hand built in the usa" very sloppy glue job. And where the former is glued to the spider it looks like a 3 year old did it. My made in China sundowns are nearly flawless.
