"Berzerk" sold me. Very, very difficult game to get hold of. To get an updated 2600, and purchase 'Berzerk' arcade perfect? At the same time? Take my money! Imagine the same done with Solaris, Radar Lock, Mr Do, Battlezone, Robot Tank, Starship, Star Raiders, Asteroids, Tempest, Lunar Lander..To name a few..Original and enhanced, all on one cart, packaged like the originals in the 70s and 80s.. It'll sell alright! Can't wait to get hold of my Atari+ and games 😉😁

I wish more companies would do this. I think Nintendo, sega and Sony should start taking notes. If Nintendo and Sony did this. With n64, GameCube, ps1 and ps2. There would be so many people that would buy that sh*t in a second

Mr Run and Jump is a brand new game. The first official 2600 cartridge release since Fatal Run in 1991.

Technically Atari liked the Indie so much and did a deal to Legitimize it, and put it in their new cartridge program (apparently they've been slowly building the program to sell cartridges again)

The 2600+ is 80% of the size of the original console (the original was huge).

As an ordinary person, one will definitely not receive this for the $129.99 that Atari is charging (Atari lists exactly what you will get in the package on their Website, that being the unit, one joystick, 10-in-1 cartridge, and cables). Mr. R.Dodo really should have mentioned this more clearly in the video because the "very premium" packaging he keeps gushing about is relevant for KZfaq reviewers only.

Hah! Funny thing is... I had my OG Atari 2600 (modded with composite video out) connected to my 4k TV (via a Retroscaler) last Saturday, to play some games with my teenage kids. Missile Command, Space Invaders and Joust were our favorites. I then found out this remastered version came out. Awesome thing is, the new games cartridges also work on the old hardware. Nice unboxing, can't wait for the review. Thanks!

They're legit. Mr. Run And Jump I believe was a recent Indie, that Atari did a deal, legitimized, and is part of their cartridge program. It's a small step but Atari is still the damn 🪳 that won't die

I actually love this idea of remastering old hardware. I'd love to see a nintendo take on this with something like the n64 or gamecube. Retro collecting market is gonna crash and burn though...

On amazon it looks like those extra games are sold separately from the console for $50 canadian each, $60 for the 4 in one game. Heck of a display box though. Wish they made more of those multigame packs. Edit: Also just noticed I dont think the console comes with the dial controllers, just the joystick.

The 4 in 1 will come with the paddles. Doesn't make sense to have those games and no paddles.

I'd like to see other companies like Sega and Nintendo do this. The mini 'consoles' from them, in my opinion, seemed liked a curiosity/intrigue item more than anything. I'd 100% have bought one though if it played back my OG carts.

The size of that box is ridiculous, but beautiful. I got me a couple of gamestation pros from Atari. The company really knows how to make a come back into the home console market

Mr run and jump is a new game from atari, but does somebody know how many W and Volts the atari usb c port need to work ? because there is no power adapter in the box

So those "repro" cartridges, are legit. Atari is actually producing cartridges, mainly the 10 games and 4 games, but Berserk is at the least all new runs, and Mr. Run And Jump is an Indie Atari has actually went ahead and done a deal for and it's legit. Imagine uf other companies did similar, miniaturized the old systems, put them in HDMI and resell them, possibly legitimize quality indie games at the same time. Now collectors will be mixed of course, angry that it'll bomb the community, but happy for HDMI + possible QOL improvements. Imagine a legit Genesis with full compatibility (games, 32x, cd, fm sound) and HDMI for $100

I agree with the other comments that this is a somewhat niche item. If you don't have nostalgia for the 2600, you probably won't have any interest in this. I don't personally have any nostalgia for the 2600 because I wasn't born yet, but I really like and enjoy the console and its games. I want to get one of these, but I'm going to wait until it's 100% compatible with every game in the 2600 library.

Good luck, like with the NES some games need a CRT, and a curved CRT at that not a flat CRT.

I had an original one many years ago and my favourite games were Yars Revenge, Midnight magic, Stargate and the best one which I did eventually clock was H.E.R.O. The spinners are called Paddles, I like what Atari have done here! But I've been ruined by the PS4 the Atari graphics are too old and basic for me now! They were great back in the day though 👍🇬🇧

Yeah, that's the entire point of the console, but it's running on emulation so a few games don't work on it

One controller people. One controller. The fake Atari 2023 apparently forgot that when the real Atari released the VCS it came with 2 controllers so you could play Combat. Apart from that, this is a massive racket. You can get all the games for free on any Mac or PC. Hope it bombs to hell.
